20220304877 · 2022-09-29 ·

A patient support includes a mattress with an inflatable bladder, where the inflatable bladder has a cavity and an upper bladder wall forming an outwardly facing side for facing and supporting the patient on the patient mattress and forming an inwardly facing side facing into the cavity. The patient support further includes a light transmitter operable to emit light through the cavity to impinge on the inwardly facing side of the upper bladder wall and a light receiver operable to detect a reflection of the light off the inwardly facing side of the bladder wall, with the light receiver generating a signal responsive to detecting the reflection. A controller is in communication with the light transmitter and is operable to determine immersion of a patient into the mattress based on the signal from the light receiver.

The present invention provides a vibratory device used by holding in hand for general massage of skin as well as stimulation of erogenous zones. The vibratory device generally comprises a body, a vibrating plate positioned on the lower end of the body, a hand grip region at the upper end of the body. A speed controller is provided near the hand grip to control the speed of vibration. The vibratory device further can have a massage pad removably attached to the vibrating plate to absorb the vibrations. A soft elastomeric material such as CyberSkin can be removably attached to the massage pad for providing enhanced stimulation and sensitivity to the skin. The vibratory device provides stimulating erogenous zones directly on the skin or over the clothes in the crotch area for sexual exploration. The vibratory device allows easy control of the intensity and frequency of vibrations.

Adjustable bed position control

The present invention provides an adjustable bed handheld remote control that may include a handheld housing, a touch sensor on a front face of the handheld housing, a transmitter and the like. The touch sensor may be presented in a slider form and may be adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a frame position of an adjustable bed. The transmitter may be electrically coupled to a processor and may receive input from the touch sensor, for communication control signals to the adjustable bed in accordance with the input received from the touch sensor.

System for dynamically adjusting treatment angle under tension to accommodate variations in spinal morphology

A system for dynamically adjusting treatment angle under tension to accommodate variations in spinal morphology during spinal decompression therapy is provided. It provides a tensioning device including a patient-positioning means, a tension-producing actuator, a positioning device, a patient interface device, a control system and a display. The control system with feedback on the resultant tension vector applied to patient spine operationally configured to allow for adjustment of either tension producing actuator position, patient position, or both while applying tension to the patient spine during non-therapeutic tension levels. The control system automatically adjusts tension producing actuator work levels such that the resultant tension vector magnitude remains ideally constant during adjustment of resultant tension vector angle, reducing the risk of eliciting paraspinal muscle contraction due to changes in resultant tension vector magnitude.

A massage apparatus is provided. The massage apparatus comprises a housing, an active assembly and a flexible component. The active assembly, which is fixed on one side of the housing approximately along an axis, comprises an adjusting motor, a plurality of adjustable elements and a plurality of supporting elements. The flexible component clads the active assembly. The adjustable elements surrounding the axis are located outside the adjusting motor. The supporting elements surrounding the axis are located outside the adjustable elements and correspondingly coupled to the adjustable elements. The adjusting motor drives the adjustable elements to move toward directions different form the axis so that the support elements adjust the flexible component toward the directions different form the axis.

Methods and Systems for Treating Overactive Bladder Using an Implantable Electroacupuncture Device

An exemplary electroacupuncture device includes a central electrode of a first polarity centrally located on a surface of a housing of the electroacupuncture device and an annular electrode of a second polarity that is spaced apart from the central electrode. The electroacupuncture device is implanted beneath a skin surface of a patient at an acupoint corresponding to a tibial nerve and performs methods for treating overactive bladder in the patient. One exemplary method performed by the electroacupuncture device includes generating stimulation sessions each including a series of stimulation pulses and having a duty cycle less than 0.05, wherein the duty cycle is a ratio of a duration of each stimulation session to a rate at which each stimulation session occurs. The exemplary method also includes applying the stimulation sessions to the tibial nerve by way of the central electrode and the annular electrode in accordance with the duty cycle.
