The information output apparatus that displays the inspection assisting information. The controller controls timing to display the inspection assisting information based on time required to carry the food item to an inspection area in which the carried food item is inspected.

AVIATION COMPONENT INSPECTION USING IMAGE RECOGNITION

An aviation component inspection device includes a camera, a display, an input device, and a computer. The camera is configured to capture images of an aviation component under inspection. The computer is configured to receive an image from the camera, evaluate the image with one or more machine-learning aviation component-detection models. Each machine-learning aviation component-detection model is previously trained to output at least one confidence score indicating a confidence that a corresponding aviation component is present in the image. The computer is configured to present, via the display, a list of candidate aviation components based on corresponding confidence scores output by the one or more machine-learning aviation component-detection models, and add data previously-associated with a selected candidate aviation component from the list to a digital inspection report responsive to receiving user verification, via the input device, confirming the selected candidate aviation component is present in the image.

VISION-BASED FASTENER LOOSENING DETECTION

A computer vision-based fastener loosening detection approach is described. A first image is captured at a first time and a second image is captured at a second time. A feature-based image registration is performed to create a third image. An intensity-based image registration is performed to create a fourth image. Registration errors are determined based on a comparison of the first and fourth images. A feature enhancement process is performed on the registration errors to determine whether the fastener has loosened between the first time and the second time.

The invention provides an automatic inspection process for detecting visible defects on a manufactured item. The process includes a set up mode in which images of same-type defect free items, but not images of same-type defected items, are obtained, and an inspection mode in which images of both same-type defect free items and same-type defected items, are obtained and defects are detected. Images of the same-type defect free items are analyzed and based on the analysis the process switches to the inspection mode.

Detecting mura defects in master panel of flat panel displays during fabrication

A method is provided for detecting mura defects in a master panel during fabrication, the master panel containing multiple flat screen displays. The method includes preparing a combined image from image data of the master panel; enhancing the quality of the combined image, including removing artifacts from the combined image; filtering the enhanced quality combined image to detect local mura defects, the local mura defects including at least one structured pattern of defined geometric shapes; applying different candidate patterns to the filtered combined image; selecting one of the candidate patterns as a defect detection pattern, the defect detection pattern being closest to the structured pattern of defined geometric shapes of the detected local mura defects; and displaying at least a portion of the defect detection pattern on a display, together with the quality-enhanced combined image.

OPTICAL INSPECTION APPARATUS AND OPTICAL INSPECTION METHOD

An optical inspection apparatus and an optical inspection method are provided. The optical inspection apparatus includes: a first detection device including a first display device and a first control device connected to the first display device for controlling a state of the first display device; a second detection device including a second display device and a second control device connected to the second display device for controlling a state of the second display device, wherein the first display device and the second display device are disposed opposite each other; and a sensing device disposed between the first detection device and the second detection device for sensing a target position movement and sending a signal to the first control device and the second control device. The optical inspection apparatus can decrease the staffing, avoid a lot of movement consumption, and automatically switch the light sources to decrease the detection interference.

An apparatus displays a plurality of lines representing a plurality of cracks occurring in a structure on a display unit, accepts an instruction to change a display state of the plurality of lines on the display unit, assigns order in which the display state is changed based on the instruction to each of a plurality of lines constituting one connecting point among the plurality of lines, and changes the display state of each of the plurality of lines constituting the one connecting point based on the order assigned by the assignment unit in response to acceptance of the instruction.

Optical measurement device for inspection of discontinuities in aerostructures
10837916 · 2020-11-17 · ·

A handheld device for making 3D topography measurements of surface discontinuities in high performance structures, such as aerostructures (e.g., aluminum fuselages). Lights illuminate the discontinuity from multiple angles, and a camera captures images of the discontinuity. A thickness sensor generates thickness data regarding a thickness of the base material and the top protective coating. A position sensor generates position data regarding a location of the discontinuity on the structure. A processor generates geometry data regarding a geometry of the discontinuity based on the images, performs an analysis of the geometry, thickness, and position data, and communicates a result of the analysis on a display. A conforming membrane and/or a gel and an opaque lubricant may be applied over and conform to the discontinuity in order to make more uniform a reflectivity difference and a color difference between the discontinuity and an adjacent portion of the structure.
