A system for forming a homogenized illumination line which can be imaged as a low-speckle line is disclosed. The system includes a laser configured to emit a collimated laser beam; and an illumination-fan generator that includes one or more linear diffusers. The illumination-fan generator is arranged and configured to (i) receive the collimated laser beam, (ii) output a planar fan of diffused light, such that the planar fan emanates from a light line formed on the distal-most one of the one or more linear diffusers, and (iii) cause formation of an illumination line at an intersection of the planar fan and an object.
OPTICAL DETECTION DEVICE AND DETECTION METHOD THEREOF
An optical detection device and a detection method thereof are provided. A linear light source provides a light curtain formed by multiple light beams, the light curtain is located on a transportation path of transporting an object to be detected. A sensor set senses the part of light beams not interrupted by the object to be detected, so as to generate a sensing signal with various strengths. A control circuit determines a physical characteristic, moving speed and position of the object to be detected according to the strength of the sensing signal.
Device for inspecting printed images
An apparatus for inspecting images is disclosed. In an embodiment an apparatus includes a camera for recording a surface of a printed product, the printed product being movable relative to the apparatus, a first illumination unit of a first type for illuminating a first partial region of a region that is capturable by the camera, a second illumination unit of a second type for illuminating a second partial region of the region that is capturable by the camera, and an evaluation unit for processing image information captured by the camera, wherein the first illumination unit differs from the second illumination unit, and wherein the first illumination unit forms a diffuse illumination source and has an internally illuminated tunnel.
Substance testing system and method
A substance testing method, a substance testing system, and a sensor module for a portable substance testing system is disclosed. The sensor module includes: a light source, configured to illuminate a lateral flow test strip of the portable substance testing system; a filter, comprising a plurality of apertures, configured to filter out light from the lateral flow test strip; and a sensor, for sensing the filtered light, and providing one or more signals indicative of an output of the test strip.
MACHINE DIRECTION LINE FILM INSPECTION
Techniques are described for inspection of films in order to detect Machine Direction Line (“MDL”) defects. An example system comprises a light source configured to provide a source of light rays, directed to a film product so that the light rays are incident to a surface of the film product at a non-perpendicular angle of incidence. An image capturing device is configured to generate an image of the film product by capturing a level of light intensity of the light rays exiting the film product in a plurality of image areas, each image area representing a line imaged across the film product that is perpendicular to a direction of manufacture of the film product. An image processing device is configured to process the image of the film product to provide an indication of the detection of one or more machine direction line (MDL) defects in the film product.
QUALITY MEASUREMENT METHOD AND QUALITY MEASUREMENT DEVICE FOR LONG SHEET MATERIAL
The quality measurement method for a long sheet material W includes measuring cellulose fibers, % moisture, and % ash of the paper web W by using area cameras 1102 to 1106 having an infrared light receiving element and a light source 1100 having an infrared light emitting LED element. Performance check for the infrared cameras 1102 to 1106 over the entire width and correction of measured values are performed by using consistency between measured values for the same point in an overlap area measured by adjacent cameras and reference samples 1107 at the off-sheet positions provided at both sides.
Overhead sidelight
The invention relates to a method for illuminating a wood fibre web for deviation detection. The method comprises turning on LEDs of an overhead sidelight that are side-directed towards a first edge of the web for illuminating a first half of width of the web, capturing an image of the first half, turning off the LEDs, turning on LEDs of the overhead sidelight that are side-directed towards a second edge of the web for illuminating a second half of width of the web, capturing an image of the second half, and turning off the LEDs. The invention also relates to an overhead sidelight, a machine vision system, and a lighting system.
Arrangement and Method for Contactless Determination of a Dimension of a Moving Web
The invention relates to an arrangement for contactless determination of at least one dimension of a moving material web, in particular a material web of opaque material, with a background illumination, with optical detection means for detecting at least one current contrast image and with evaluation means, wherein the background illumination is arranged opposite the optical detection means, wherein the material web moves in a plane between the at least one optical detection means and the background illumination, and wherein the current contrast image has at least one piece of information about at least one light intensity laterally adjacent to the material web. Furthermore, the present invention concerns a corresponding process. For simplifying and improving the non-contact determination of the dimension, the present invention proposes to provide a shadowing element and to compare the current contrast image with a reference contrast image, wherein the current contrast image represents a shadowing of the background illumination the material web and by the shadowing element.
