20220032491 · 2022-02-03 ·

The present invention relates to a system for repairing a plywood panel. The system comprises an input section and an output section wherein at least one of these comprises a support structure for a stack of the plywood panels. The system may further comprise a detection device for scanning a plywood panel and a repairing device for performing a repair operation for the plywood panel. Moreover, the system may comprise a transport device for transporting a plywood panel from the input section to the output section and a control device for generating a control signal to the repairing device in response to a detection of a defect in the plywood panel on the basis of information obtained with the detection device. The invention also relates to a method implementable by the system.

Machine for weaving or winding a fiber texture and enabling anomalies to be inspected by image analysis

A machine for weaving or winding a fiber preform on a mandrel having an axis of rotation that is substantially horizontal and that serves to receive the preform, the machine having a plurality of cameras pointing towards the underside of the fiber preform in order to scan the hidden face of the fiber preform and acquire images of the hidden face; an image analysis module for processing these images of the hidden face of the fiber preform in a plurality of adjacent scan windows, and for extracting weaving patterns therefrom and comparing them with reference weaving patterns previously stored in the module; a motor for driving the mandrel in rotation about its axis of rotation; and a control unit for stopping rotation of the mandrel if the result of the comparison reveals a difference of appearance between the two weaving patterns.

The wood tracking system for a production line generally has a wood product optimizer; a wood product trimmer downstream from the optimizer in the production line; a conveyor for moving wood products from the optimizer to the trimmer and across a handling area therebetween, the optimizer being configured to scan each of the wood products in a given order and to generate optimization data for each wood product; and a computer vision system positioned proximate the handling area along the production line, the computer vision system having a camera, a processor in communication with the optimizer and with the trimmer and a computer-readable memory for storing the optimization data, the processor being configured to acquire images of the handling area from the camera, the processor being configured to associate the optimization data of a given wood product across each of the images until it arrives at the trimmer.

ONLINE METHOD TO DETERMINE QUALITY STANDARDS FOR INCOMING WOOD CHIPS TO A PAPERMILL

A computer implemented method is disclosed herein for monitoring and determining a quality level of incoming raw material from one or more sources. The method includes (1) receiving visual data associated with the incoming raw material; (2) determining an indication of quality level associated with the incoming raw material; and (3) transmitting, to at least one of a graphical user interface (GUI) and a computer log, the indication of quality level and at least one timestamp associated with the visual data. The visual data may include a plurality of images received from one or more cameras configured for monitoring the incoming raw material. A related system is also disclosed herein.

A DEVICE AND A METHOD FOR REAL-TIME IDENTIFICATION OF DEFECTS IN FABRICS, DURING WEAVING
20220170189 · 2022-06-02 ·

A defect identification device for identifying defects in fabrics comprising a support frame fitted with a crossbar supporting at least one video camera for capturing images of a fabric while it is being woven, movement means for moving the at least one video camera, a processing and control unit programmed to control the movement means to move the video camera automatically in real time along a transverse weft direction (X-X), acquiring in advance the geometry of the fabric to be made and setting at least one theoretical dimensional parameter of comparison and a tolerance limit value for said theoretical dimensional parameter, capturing images of the fabric being formed in real time, processing said images so as to acquire said actual dimensional parameter of the fabric being formed and compare it to the theoretical dimensional parameter, detecting the presence of a weaving error.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR LAYERED WOOD PRODUCT PRODUCTION
20220161541 · 2022-05-26 · ·

A method and system for production of layered wood products employs local and independently operating robotic panel assembly cells including one or more veneer handling robots, one or more core handling robots, and one or more glue application robots to produce stacks of layered wood product panels locally near the pressing stations. Consequently, the stacks of layered wood product panels are independently built at, or near, the location of the pressing stations. This eliminates the need for traditional panel conveyors, traditional layered wood product panel assembly layup lines, and stack press delivery lines. This, in turn, eliminates thousands of moving parts and dozens of people from the layered wood product production process.
