Aspects of the present disclosure relate aids for the visually impaired.
Dynamic sauna
Systems and methods are provided for controlling infrared radiation (IR) sources of a sauna including tuning IR wavelength-ranges and radiated power-levels of IR sources, and directing IR to locations on a user's body. In one illustrative embodiment, a sauna may be provided having adjustable heat sources to emit IR at any wavelength resulting in a desirable radiation treatment for the sauna user. In another illustrative embodiment, a method is provided for tuning IR sources in a sauna.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for documenting code blue scenarios
An apparatus may be configured for documenting a code blue scenario when adhered to the chest of a subject undergoing resuscitation by sensing and transmitting information associated with the code blue scenario. Such information may include one or more of vital signs of the subject during resuscitation, information associated with chest movements of the subject during resuscitation, and audio information from an environment of the subject during resuscitation. A computing platform that is separate and distinct from the apparatus may provide code blue documentation conveying information related to the vital signs of the subject and derived from the audio information from the environment of the subject during resuscitation.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS HAVING AN INTEGRATED LIMB COMPRESSION DEVICE
A patient support apparatus includes a frame having a patient support deck. A footboard is removably coupled to the frame. A compression therapy module is located inside the footboard or is mounted to a foot section of the frame. A sleeve port is pneumatically coupled to the compression therapy module and is located on the foot section. The sleeve port is configured for attachment to at least one tube extending from a compression sleeve worn on a limb of a patient. Control circuitry is coupled to the frame and is operable to control functions of the patient support apparatus and to control the compression therapy module. A graphical display screen is coupled to the control circuitry and displays user inputs that are selected to control functions of the patient support apparatus and the compression therapy module.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMMUNICATING WITH A GUIDE ANIMAL
Systems and methods for communicating with a guide animal are provided. One embodiment of a method includes determining a first command to provide to a user to proceed to a destination, determining a second command to provide to the guide animal to correspond with the first command, and outputting the first command to direct the user toward the destination. Some embodiments include outputting the second command to direct the guide animal toward the destination, where the second command is outputted to be imperceptible by the user but is perceptible by the guide animal.
Devices, systems and methods for treating pain with electrical stimulation
Devices, systems and methods are provided for treating migraine headaches and other conditions by non-invasive electrical stimulation of nerves and other tissue. A hand-held device includes a housing with a controller having a signal generator, an electrode for delivering electrical signals, and a conductive surface configured as a return path for the electrical signals. In certain implementations, the electrode is repositionable with respect to the housing. The patient can self-apply the hand-held device by pressing it against areas in need of pain relief. The device may include a pressure-sensitive gating switch to control delivery of the stimulation therapy. In certain embodiments, the electrode is a rollerball electrode. The device may include a chamber for retaining and dispensing conductive gel to the therapy site. In certain approaches, the device includes an electrode support for coupling an electrical stimulation system to the head for hands-free electrical stimulation therapy.
Medical apparatus communication system and medical apparatus
A medical apparatus communication system includes a first medical apparatus and a second medical apparatus. The first medical apparatus includes a first communicating unit which establishes a communication connection with the second medical apparatus to communicate with the second medical apparatus, and a first controlling unit which controls the first medical apparatus. The second medical apparatus includes a second communicating unit which establishes a communication connection with the first medical apparatus to communicate with the first medical apparatus, a second controlling unit which controls the second medical apparatus, and a second sound outputting unit which performs a sound output in accordance with a control of the second controlling unit. The second controlling unit controls the sound output of the second sound outputting unit in a predetermined timing after establishment of the communication connection between the first and second communicating units.
DEVICE FOR ACUPUNCTURE AND MOXIBUSTION THERAPY AND USES THEREOF
The present invention provides a device for acumoxa therapy utilizing energy waves. In one embodiment, the device delivers energy in a non-invasive manner. In one embodiment, the device is configured to include an energy pin and one or more energy rings. In one embodiment, the device delivers sufficient energy to certain body parts such as acupoints to achieve an intervening and/or therapeutic effect. In one embodiment, the device can maintain or improve general health, or can alleviate or treat one or more conditions. In one embodiment, the present invention also discloses a system comprising the device and uses thereof.
INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT) REAL-TIME RESPONSE TO DEFINED SYMPTOMS
Systems, computer-implemented methods and/or computer program products that facilitate real-time response to defined symptoms are provided. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprises: monitoring, by a system operatively coupled to a processor, a state of an entity; detecting, by the system, defined symptoms of the entity by analyzing the state of the entity; and transmitting, by the system, a signal that causes audio response or a haptic response to be provided to the entity, wherein transmission of the signal that causes the audio response or the haptic response is based on detection of the defined symptoms.
System for dynamically adjusting treatment angle under tension to accommodate variations in spinal morphology
A system for dynamically adjusting treatment angle under tension to accommodate variations in spinal morphology during spinal decompression therapy is provided. It provides a tensioning device including a patient-positioning means, a tension-producing actuator, a positioning device, a patient interface device, a control system and a display. The control system with feedback on the resultant tension vector applied to patient spine operationally configured to allow for adjustment of either tension producing actuator position, patient position, or both while applying tension to the patient spine during non-therapeutic tension levels. The control system automatically adjusts tension producing actuator work levels such that the resultant tension vector magnitude remains ideally constant during adjustment of resultant tension vector angle, reducing the risk of eliciting paraspinal muscle contraction due to changes in resultant tension vector magnitude.
