Human machine interfaces for lower extremity orthotics
A system and method by which movements desired by a user of a lower extremity orthotic is determined and a control system automatically regulates the sequential operation of powered lower extremity orthotic components to enable the user, having mobility disorders, to walk, as well as perform other common mobility tasks which involve leg movements, perhaps with the use of a gait aid.
BODY CARE MOTION TRACKING DEVICE AND BODY CARE MANAGEMENT METHOD USING SAME
Proposed are a body care motion tracking device and a body care management method using the same. More specifically, proposed are a body care motion tracking device and a body care management method using the same, which are capable of: tracking body care, which is beauty management performed by manual-manipulation, through a tracking device and storing the body care having been tracked as data; and visualizing stored data and displaying the data on a display device, thereby performing user-customized manual-manipulation management on the basis of the same.
Methods and apparatus for body weight support system
An apparatus includes a drive mechanism, a patient support mechanism, and an electronic system. The drive mechanism is included in a trolley and is configured to suspend the trolley from a support track. The drive mechanism includes a first sensor configured to sense an operating condition of the drive mechanism. The patient support mechanism couples to the trolley and includes a tether and a second sensor. The tether can be operatively coupled to a patient such that the patient support mechanism supports the patient. The second sensor is configured to sense an operating condition of the patient support mechanism. The electronic system is included in the trolley and has at least a processor and a memory. The processor is configured to define a gait characteristic of the patient based at least in part on a signal received from the first sensor and a signal received from the second sensor.
Information processing apparatus and operating method thereof
A method of operating an information processing apparatus may include collecting gait information of a walking assistance apparatus; determining a gait feature of a user of the walking assistance apparatus based on the collected gait information; and controlling the walking assistance apparatus by determining a gait group of the user based on the determined gait feature.
Ankle orthosis
A multi-axis rotation control ankle brace, wherein the direction and magnitude of force can be controlled around three axes of the ankle joint through an adjustable tensioning apparatus. The device may be applied to address conditions such as chronic ankle instability, foot drop, or osteoarthritis by providing such forces around the joint as an external-muscle tendon system to improve function, reduce pain, or restore mobility of the user. While more are contemplated herein, five preferred embodiments are specifically disclosed in the current application. Three preferred embodiments comprise a proximal portion and a distal portion, wherein the proximal portion is anchored above the ankle joint and houses, in aspects, the adjustment mechanism. The proximal portion is connected to the distal portion by tensioning or compressive elements, through which forces can be controlled by the user via the adjustment mechanism. In other preferred embodiments, the device is comprised of one continuous mesh, sock or sleeve through which tension can be controlled by the user. In other preferred embodiments, the device is personalized to the user through multiple aspects including user-enabled adjustment of forces around the joint. The device may be customized by 3D printing a device based on a digital scan, and therefore conforms to the user's ankle and foot.
MONITORING CPR BY A WEARABLE MEDICAL DEVICE
A wearable medical device, comprising: a garment configured to be worn about a torso of a patient; one or more sensors for detecting a characteristic of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) therapy; an output device; and a processor configured for processing information from the one or more sensors and providing, to the output device, information about the CPR therapy, wherein at least one of the one or more sensors is movably attached to the garment, the at least one sensor configured to be positioned to the center of the patient's chest prior to initiation of the CPR therapy.
Interactive therapeutic mat
A therapeutic mat is described. The mat provides therapeutic relief in the form of vibratory motion and/or heat. The mat or pad is particularly useful as a floor mat in a vehicle. The mat includes provisions to enable powering the mat from a 12-volt direct current source, such as used in an automobile or other vehicle. A massage module can be removed from the mat to facilitate cleaning of the mat. The mat may also include one or more upwardly extending provisions for massaging the arch region of a user's feet. Also described are illuminated mats. The lights of a mat can operate based upon the operation of another mat, pulsations of the massage module, or based upon acoustic levels in the vehicle.
System, Mobile Application and Process for an Advanced Recovery Device
A method for operating a compressive recovery device. The method including receiving activity data of a user, providing a recommended recovery activity based on the activity data, wherein a primary goal of the recovery activity is to facilitate physiological recovery of the user, and controlling a compressive recovery device to perform the recovery activity on the user.
WALKING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS AND WALKING TRAINING METHOD
A walking assistance apparatus includes stimulus applying means for applying a stimulus to a leg part on which a walking assistance apparatus is mounted and state detection means for detecting a supporting leg condition and a lifted leg condition of the leg part on which the walking assistance apparatus is mounted. The stimulus applying means applies a first stimulus to the leg part when the state detection means has detected that the leg part on which the walking assistance apparatus is mounted is in the lifted leg condition, and the stimulus applying means does not apply a stimulus to the leg part or applies a second stimulus that is weaker than the first stimulus when the state detection means has detected that the leg part on which the walking assistance apparatus is mounted is in the supporting leg condition.
Apparatus and method for recognizing gait motion
An apparatus and method for recognizing a gait motion by detecting a landing point in time of a foot of a user based on sensed acceleration information, inferring a gait motion based on right and left hip joint angle information of the user sensed at the detected landing point in time of the foot of the user, and detecting a landing leg between both legs of the user based on the inferred gait motion may be provided.
