11596570 · 2023-03-07 · ·

The present disclosure generally relates to intelligent garments that provide thermal regulation in a variety of environments. The garments may include different layers such as a hydrophobic layer in direct contact with a wearer's skin surface and saturated with an aqueous mixture, a spacer layer, a reflective layer, and an outer hydrophobic layer. The layers of the garment may work together to reduce the metabolic expenditure of the wearer in extreme environmental conditions or during demanding physical activity. A variety of sensors may be displaced throughout the garments so as to enable the collection of data associated with wearers as well as environmental conditions. Wearers may control the thermal balance and other properties of the garments as desired.

SYSTEM AND RELATED METHOD FOR DECREASING SYMPTOMS OF PRIMARY DYSMENORRHEA OF A PERSON
20230063367 · 2023-03-02 ·

A system for decreasing symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea of a female person/patient. Such system includes an electrical assembly configured for attachment at an acupoint BL57 on each posterior calf skin of the patient proximately mid-length between the ankle and knee region of the patient. Each electrical assembly includes a heating element, a temperature sensor, a heat radiator for dissipating heat generated by the heating element, and an energy source. A pulse generating controller including a computer having logic circuitry powered by the energy source and carried by and arranged in electrical communication with the electrical assembly. The controller operates each heating element through a set or series of immediately consecutive heating and cooling cycles. Each heating and cooling cycle initially involves operating the heating element to warm the person's/patient's skin underlying the heating element as measured by the temperature sensor for a period of 10 to 30 seconds and to a temperature ranging between about 122° F. to about 126 F°. Immediately thereafter, the heat exchanger applies a cooling effect to the heating element whereby cooling the heating element as measured by the temperature sensor for a time period of 10 to 60 seconds. A method for decreasing symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea of a female person/patient is also disclosed.

Smart knee brace for post-surgery rehabilitation
11660223 · 2023-05-30 · ·

A smart knee brace including a knee brace, multiple thigh bands, multiple shin bands, and multiple brace straps removably attached to one another and multiple motion actuators and sensors. Each motion actuator is connected to one brace strap and each sensor is connected to one motion actuator to measure an orientation of corresponding brace strap and generate a motion signal. A computing device receives the motion signals from the sensors; measures a current range of motion of the thigh, the shin, and the knee, and, based on the received motion signals, and generates drive signals based on the measured current range of motion. A native smart knee brace computer application on a smart phone of the user is operatively connected to the computing device and a cloud application server provide higher level analysis of the motions of the smart knee brace.
