A spine treating apparatus is presented. The apparatus includes a plurality of frames arranged in an x-direction to form a surface, suspension pieces supporting the plurality of frames, a rotator on which the suspension pieces rest, and a motor that turns the rotator about an axis that extends in the x-direction. The rotator has an uneven outer surface such that when the motor turns the rotator, the suspension pieces move according to the contours of the rotator's uneven outer surface. The movement of the suspension pieces treats the back of a patient lying on the surface. A method of treating a user's spine is also presented. The method entails arranging frames to form a surface, providing a suspension piece for each of the frames to support the frames, providing a rotator with an uneven surface to contact the suspension piece, and turning the rotator.

System and method for airway management

Systems and methods for airway management are provided. The airway management devices may be configured to align the oropharyngeal, laryngeal and tracheal axes of a person's head and/or support a neck region and chin and posterior mandibular region of a person. The airway management devices may provide forces similar to forces provided by a conventional head tilt chin lift maneuver and a conventional jaw thrust maneuver.

SHOULDER REHABILITATION DEVICE AND METHOD

A shoulder rehabilitation device includes an elongated structure and a force generator. The elongated structure is configured to support an arm of a patient, the patient being in a lying position. The force generator is mounted to the elongated structure and configured to apply a traction force on the arm in a distal direction relative to the arm. The elongated structure is rotatable about a pivot adjacent a shoulder joint of said arm. The force generator is further configured to control the traction force to be within a predetermined range.

ADJUSTABLE PISTON

Techniques and devices for extending a piston and/or compression unit, for example connected to a medical device such as a mechanical CPR device, to accommodate different sized patients, are described herein. In some cases, a piston of a mechanical CPR device may include an inner piston at least partially slidable into an external piston sleeve. In one aspect, some aspects, the piston includes sleeves which can move relative to each other to extend the piston. In additional aspects, the compression mechanism may also extend downward toward the patient. In all aspects, the change in length of the piston may be detected and used to modify movement of the piston, for example to more safely perform mechanical CPR.

A system for irrigating and cleaning nasal cavities is provided. In some embodiments, the system includes a stand configured to hold an aqueous solution container. A primary incoming tube leading to a face mask device configured to be worn by a user. In one embodiment, the solution is gravity fed directed through the primary incoming tube into at least one port of the face mask device. A drain line leads from the face mask device to a collection container.

Multiple actuator vibration therapy

A method includes disposing a plurality of actuators about a subject, each actuator being configured to generate a respective vibration signal, each vibration signal applying a normal force to the subject, and controlling the plurality of actuators such that the respective vibration signal of each actuator of the plurality has a respective vibration characteristic. Each actuator is oriented such that the respective vibration signal propagates along a longitudinal axis of the subject for stimulation of the subject remote from the plurality of actuators.
