The health appliance, which allows a user lying or seated to move their knee joint while supporting the knee joint, includes a support 1 which is a triangular prism having one side surfaces as a bottom surface 11, and an aid 2 mounted on the leg below the knee and can be pulled by the user. The support 1 has a width W at which one knee is supported, and has a cross section forming a triangle with a base corresponding to one side surface 11 and an acute diagonal angle θ1. When sandwiched under the user's knee, the base angle θ2 adjacent to the toe is larger than the diagonal angle θ1 and smaller than the base angle θ3 adjacent to the thigh.

HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A therapeutic wrap includes a flexible member configured to wrap around an affected area. Actuators are operably coupled to the flexible member. Each actuator is operable between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. A first coupling feature is disposed proximate a first edge on a first surface of the flexible member. A second coupling feature is disposed proximate a second edge on a second surface of the flexible member. The first coupling feature is configured to engage the second coupling feature when the flexible member is wrapped around the affected area and when the flexible member is slidably adjusted relative to the affected area. A retaining feature is coupled to at least one end of the flexible member and configured to retain the flexible member in a selected position on the affected area.

Provided is a method for treating metastatic disease or any other tumor that cannot easily or readily localized or localized at all using immersion mechanotherapy. The method includes providing a vessel containing an amount of medium for immersing at least a portion of a subject, and applying one or more programmed cycles of ultrasound waves to the subject through the medium for a pre-determined period of time. Also provided is a device for implementing the immersion mechanotherapy.

Robotic knee testing (RKT) device having decoupled drive capability and systems and methods providing the same

Various limb manipulation and evaluation devices are provided. The devices generally include three drives, namely a first drive configured to manipulate a first bone relative to a second bone in a first direction, a second drive configured to manipulate the first bone relative to the second bone in a second direction, a third drive configured to manipulate the first bone relative to the second bone in a second direction. The three directions are different relative to each other and in some embodiments represent three distinct axes. The devices are further configured such that at least one of the drives is mutually decoupled relative to at least one other drive, such that operation of the one drive does not affect the position or movement of the another drive. One or multiple of the drives may be decoupled. A corresponding method of operating such decoupled drives is also provided.

Compression belt assembly for a chest compression device

A chest compression device with a chest compression belt assembly including guards and sensors operable with a control system to control operation of the system depending on detection of proper installation of the guards.

EXERCISER FOR REGAINING FLEXIBILITY
20170258670 · 2017-09-14 ·

The exerciser for restoring flexibility is an electromechanical apparatus having a bed with slots on which the user lies or sits and a mechanism which, by means of high-speed rotational eccentric movements of its pegs, which are tubes having a rounded head and a flat surface that protrude through the slots of the bed, transfer the movement to the muscles of the body being targeted, thereby loosening them and consequently improving the flexibility thereof. The mechanism is mobilized by an electric motor which, by means of a belt, turns toothed pulleys, which cause eccentric shafts to rotate which, in turn, transfer that movement to bars on which a series of pins is aligned, which pins are covered by the pegs, which can be interchanged to provide different sizes and shapes, with all of them having a rounded and flat cover for adapting to the different muscles of the body and physical dimensions of the user.

NECK TREATMENT DEVICE
20170258667 · 2017-09-14 · ·

Neck treatment devices for treating the neck of a person includes a multitude of neck treatment elements located on either side of the device for treating the neck of a person to relieve the pain, joint stiffness, muscle tightness, muscle tension, and headaches of the person when lying supine on the device or when sitting on a chair depending upon the form of the device. One form of the device 2 comprises depthwise front to back treatment elements 6 with multiple extending ridges 10a, 10b, 12a, 12b, 14a, and 14b located in spaced apart side by side relationship extending substantially in parallel from, at or towards the front edge 16 of treatment element 6 to the back edge 18 of treatment element 6 with a relatively gentle sloping curve in their front 16 portion and a more pronounced curve in their back 18 portion for providing less or more pressure to the cervical (neck) facet joints respectively when lying on the device supine. The multiple ridges 10a, 10b, 12a, 12b, 14a, and 14b on the treatment elements are arranged concavely in front view to uniformly match the convex shape of the head and neck, and arranged to extend outwardly in profile from the device 2, treatment element portion or chair to an extent to direct therapeutic forces directly onto the cervical (neck) facet joints and neck muscles of a person using the device to mobilise the facet joints and massage the muscles of the neck of the user replicating treatment provided by a physical therapist by relieving pain, reducing joint stiffness, muscle tightness and tension, to the neck of a person and also relieve neck-related headaches.

ELEVATION TIMING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HEAD UP CPR

A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the head, heart and shoulders of an individual from a starting elevation angle to a final elevation angle greater than zero degrees relative to horizontal while performing CPR by repeatedly compressing the chest. The method includes elevating the brain within a time period selected to be slow enough to permit a sufficient amount of blood to flow to the brain throughout the elevation time period. The method also includes regulating the intrathoracic pressure of the individual while performing CPR. The performance of chest compressions is stopped and after stopping the performance of chest compressions, the head, heart, and shoulders are promptly from the final elevation angle within a timeframe selected to prevent significant drainage of blood from the brain until the head, heart and shoulders are lowered.

STRETCHING APPARATUS

A stretching apparatus for use during a stretching exercise includes a strap and a ratchet device. The strap is configured to attach to a limb of a user. The strap extends through the ratchet device and the ratchet device controls tension in the strap. The ratchet device is positionable between a ratcheting position and a release position. The ratcheting position prevents movement of the strap in a first direction and allows movement of the strap in a second direction. The release position allows movement of the strap in the first direction. The stretching apparatus also includes a remote trigger connected to the ratchet device to move the ratchet device between the ratcheting position and the release position. The stretching apparatus removably connects to support structures and is adjustable between different positions for different stretching exercises.
