Brown Adipocyte Progenitors in Human Skeletal Muscle
This invention relates to brown adipose tissue (BAT) progenitor cells and methods for isolating BAT progenitor cells from skeletal muscle. BAT progenitor cell surface markers and medium and agents for inducing cell differentiation into brown adipocytes are also provided. In some embodiments, the BAT progenitor cell expresses a first cell surface marker associated with endothelial cells, the first cell surface marker being detectable in an antibody based assay using a first antibody. In addition, the BAT progenitor cell can be substantially free of a second cell surface marker associated with endothelial cells, the second cell surface marker being substantially undetectable in said antibody based assay using a second antibody. The BAT progenitor cell can also be substantially free of additional cell surface markers.
PHENOTYPE PROFILE OF HUMAN RETINAL PROGENITOR CELLS
The present invention relates to substantially homogenous populations of human retinal progenitor cells having the following positive surface markers: SSEA4, CD73, PTK7 and PSA-NCAM. The invention also relates to method for preparing such substantially homogeneous cell populations from human tissue using cell sorting techniques.
Image analysis and measurement of biological samples
Methods, devices, systems, and apparatuses are provided for the image analysis of measurement of biological samples. Specifically, methods are provided for detecting and measuring, in a sample, cell morphology; measurement of cell numbers; detection of particles; measurement of particle numbers; and other properties and quantities of or in a sample. Some embodiments may use a sample holder comprising a sample chamber configured to hold said sample, at least a portion of said sample holder comprising an optically transmissive material, said optically transmissive material comprising an optically transmissive surface and a reflective surface.
Method for identifying a modulator of cell survival or plasticity
This invention provides novel compounds and methods for promoting cell survival and/or plasticity, especially in neuronal cells, by targeting the microtubule End Binding (EB) proteins and other associated proteins (e.g., drebrin). Methods for identifying potential modulators of cell death/plasticity are also described.
DEVICES AND METHODS OF CELL CAPTURE AND ANALYSIS
The present invention provides a device for isolating target biomolecules or cells from samples, particularly biological samples. In particular, the device comprises a loading mixture, which contains the biological sample and a first binding entity that specifically binds to the target biomolecule or target cell; and a micro-channel coated with a second binding entity that binds directly or indirectly to the first binding entity. Methods of capturing, detecting, and/or evaluating target biomolecules or target cells (e.g. cancer cells) in biological samples are also disclosed.
SCREENING OF T LYMPHOCYTES FOR CANCER-SPECIFIC ANTIGENS
Provided herein are methods to identify TCR-recognizing cancer-specific antigens, and TCR-engineered T cells having antigen-specific cytotoxic activity. Provided herein are engineered T lymphocytes produced by the methods described herein. Provided herein are methods of treating cancer in a subject comprising administering the engineered T lymphocytes described herein. Provided herein are antibodies, or fragments thereof, produced by the methods described herein. Provided herein are methods of treating cancer in a subject comprising administering the antibodies described herein to a subject. In some embodiments, the therapeutic compositions (e.g., engineered lymphocytes, antibodies, etc.) and methods herein are provided as part of a kit or system.
Cell line screening method
The invention provides a novel cell line development method useful to screen for recombinant protein production. The method utilizes a membrane-anchored reporter or an intracellular reporter residing in the expression vector for a gene of interest to facilitate initial cell selection by FACS or MACS. A switching mechanism can be used to delete the reporter from the chromosome by providing an appropriate DNA recombinase, which turns the selected cells into production cells that secrete the protein of interest without co-expression of the reporter.
BROADLY NEUTRALIZING ANTI-HUMAN CYTOMEGALOVIRUS (HCMV) ANTIBODIES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to anti-human cytomegalovirus (anti-HCMV) antibodies and vaccines as well as diagnostic and therapeutic methods of use.
Methods for Assaying Cellular Binding Interactions
There are provided methods, and devices for assaying for a binding interaction between a protein, such as a monoclonal antibody, produced by a cell, and a biomolecule. The method may include retaining the cell within a chamber having an aperture; exposing the protein produced by the cell to a capture substrate, wherein the capture substrate is in fluid communication with the protein produced by the cell and wherein the capture substrate is operable to bind the protein produced by the cell; flowing a fluid volume comprising the biomolecule through the chamber via said aperture, wherein the fluid volume is in fluid communication with the capture substrate; and determining a binding interaction between the protein produced by the cell and the biomolecule.
