Microscope slides with quality controls thereon

The present invention provides a microscope slide for analyzing a tissue sample. The slide includes an elongate planar substrate, which comprises a first major surface having a sample-affixing area within which a tissue sample may be affixed; a first positive control sample affixed on the first major surface at a first location adjacent to the sample-affixing area; and a second positive control sample affixed on the first major surface at a second location adjacent to the sample-affixing area. The first and second locations are spaced such that quality of the staining of the first and second positive control samples is indicative of the quality of the staining of the tissue sample. Also provided are a kit containing the microscope slide and a method of making and a method of using the microscope slide.

Reagent management system

A reagent management system is disclosed comprising a reagent container section for receiving reagent containers and a reagent reconstitution device for reconstituting dry, or lyophilized, reagents or concentrated reagents in reagent containers in order to carry out in-vitro diagnostic tests with the reconstituted reagents. A controller is programmed to instruct the reagent reconstitution device to automatically reconstitute an initial volume of a selected reagent type in reagent containers. The initial volume is calculated based on an open container stability time (OCS) of the reconstituted reagent type for each reagent container and on a number of tests to be carried out within the OCS of the reconstituted reagent type. A reagent container for use by the reagent management system and methods of automatically reconstituting a dry, or lyophilized reagent, or a concentrated liquid reagent in a reagent container to carry out an in-vitro diagnostic test with the reagent are disclosed.

AUTOMATIC ANALYZER

In conventional automatic analyzers, there have been instances where, when a plurality of associated items are analyzed as a set item, there is high variation in the analysis data obtained using the set item, leading to a need for improvement of analysis precision. The present invention comprises performing, in mutual association, a set of preparation steps to carry out until it is time to analyze an unknown sample, the set of preparation steps including a pre-preparation step in which stirring, etc., is performed when an analysis reagent kit is mounted on the analyzer, and a step for correcting a standard curve in which correction samples that correspond to analysis items are used. This makes it possible to perform analysis after the preparation states of a plurality of analysis reagent kits are collected as needed, enabling high-precision analysis of a set item.

AUTOMATIC ANALYZER AND REAGENT BOTTLE LOADING METHOD

An automatic analyzer includes: a reagent mounting unit 103 in which a plurality of reagent bottles 10 are installed when a reagent bottle 10 is loaded into the automatic analyzer; a reagent conveying mechanism 101 including a gripper mechanism 106; and a reagent mounting mechanism 102 for moving the reagent mounting unit 103 between an installation position at which an operator installs the reagent bottle 10 in the reagent mounting unit 103 and a position at which the gripper mechanism 106 grips the reagent bottle 10. It is thereby possible to achieve saving of a mechanism installation space and reduction of the number of constituent components, automatically carry out an operation from opening of the reagent bottle to loading of the reagent bottle into the reagent disk, and alleviate an operator's burden.

A sample analyzer and a method for obtaining reagent information are disclosed, wherein the sample analyzer analyzes a sample by using a reagent contained in a reagent container, comprising a first reagent container holder configured to hold a first reagent container containing a first reagent, a first electronic tag, on which a reagent information regarding the first reagent is recorded, attached to the first reagent container; a second reagent container holder configured to hold a second reagent container containing a second reagent, a second electronic tag, on which a reagent information regarding the second reagent is recorded, attached to the second reagent container; an antenna that is arranged between the first reagent container holder and the second reagent container holder, and is configured to receive a radio wave from each of the first and second electronic tags; and a reagent information obtainer unit configured to obtain the reagent information recorded on the first electronic tag based on a radio wave received from the first electronic tag, and to obtain the reagent information recorded on the second electronic tag based on a radio wave received from the second electronic tag.

Sample analyzer

A sample analyzer is provided that does not require a plurality of reagent containers containing the same type of reagent to be connected, that can continue measurement even when a reagent container becomes empty, and that allows the timing of replacement of the reagent container to be recognized suitably. A reagent storage section is provided that is connected to a reagent container containing a reagent through a fluid channel and that stores the reagent transferred from the reagent container. A message for prompting replacement of the reagent container is outputted when it is detected that the remaining amount in the reagent container is a predetermined amount or less. A message for prompting to suspend sample measurement in the measurement section is outputted when it is detected that the remaining amount in the reagent storage section is a predetermined amount or less.

AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS DEVICE, AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS SYSTEM, AND AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS METHOD

The automatic analysis device is provided with (1) a measurement mechanism having a light measuring unit having a reaction container in which the sample is dispensed, a light source which emits light to the reaction container, and a detection unit that detects scattered light from the sample in the reaction container, (2) an amplifier circuit unit having an adder-subtractor that adds or subtracts a correction signal to or from a first measurement signal from the detection unit, and an amplifier circuit which amplifies the output signal by the adder-subtractor at a fixed amplification rate to output a second measurement signal, and (3) an arithmetic operation unit which calculates the correction signal on the basis of a difference between the signal level of the second measurement signal and a target value, and which executes an analysis action based on the second measurement signal after correction by means of the correction signal.
