Method of processing a sample
A sample receptacle can be used for ordering assays to be performed by an automatic sample processing instrument. The sample receptacle can include a body defining a chamber for containing a sample and a label. The label can include discrete areas configured to be altered from a first assay order state to a second assay order state. Each discrete area has a known association with a different assay. The label can also include assay-identifying indicia indicating the respective assay associated with a respective discrete area. A method of processing a sample in a receptacle having one or more assay order states can include automatically determining assay order states of the discrete areas and performing an assay on the sample, using the automatic sample processing instruments, based on the determined assay order states of the discrete areas.

Tissue sample management systems include a central network, a medical professional system, and a pathology lab system for processing a tissue sample in a matrix having a sectionable code. At least the pathology lab system includes at least one imaging device, and the central network is configured to process images from the at least one imaging device to identify and record at least the sectionable code of the matrix. Methods for tissue sample processing include providing a matrix having a sectionable code and measurement marks, the matrix for receiving a tissue sample, and identifying the sectionable code from an image taken of the tissue sample in the matrix. Tissue sample-receiving matrices include a sectionable alphanumeric code or bar code, a tissue sample receptacle, and measurement marks formed along a sidewall thereof. The matrices include one or more proteins and one or more lipids.
SPECIMEN INFORMATION SETTING METHOD, SPECIMEN INFORMATION SETTING PROGRAM, AND SPECIMEN INFORMATION SETTING DEVICE
A sample information setting method for setting information on a sample in an injection device for injecting a sample into each of a plurality of injection targets, includes a step of displaying a plurality of first images corresponding to the plurality of injection targets, respectively; a step of displaying a second image showing, as a menu, information on at least one sample capable of being set to the injection target corresponding to the first image included in a region within an array of the plurality of injection targets, in response to completion of a first operation of selecting the region by a dragging operation, the region including the first image of the injection target; and a step of setting the information on the sample selected by a second operation to the injection target corresponding to the first image included in the region.
High throughput method and system for analyzing the effects of agents on planaria
A high throughput system and method for analyzing the effects of a plurality of agents on planaria is disclosed. Multiple test zones are provided, where each test zone contains at least a portion of one planarian. The planaria in each test zone are then exposed to at least one agent, the test zones are sealed, and at various times, the test zones are moved automatically between a storage location and at least one assay station. At each assay station, the test zones are exposed to a set of conditions, and an image or video of the planaria in the test zones are captured. Automated image or video analysis is used to are evaluate and determine whether the agent has an effect.
CONVEYANCE DEVICE, ANALYSIS SYSTEM, PROGRAM FOR CONVEYANCE DEVICE, AND CONVEYANCE METHOD
To provide a conveyance device that is more user-friendly than conventional devices, and further enhance workability, a conveyance device that conveys a container accommodating a sample to an analysis device includes: a pallet in which a plurality of installation portions is provided, the container being installed in the installation portions; sensors that are provided for the respective installation portions in one-to-one correspondence, and acquire container information that is information obtained when the container is installed; a conveyance unit that picks up the container installed in the pallet, and conveys the container to the analysis device; and a conveyance control unit that causes the conveyance unit to pick up the container in accordance with a pick-up order determined on the basis of the container information.
Adaptation of a Processing of an in Particular Biological Sample Using a Processing Unit
A method for adapting a processing of an in particular biological sample using a processing unit includes identifying a cartridge in an identification region for a processing parameter, reading the processing parameter from the identified cartridge by the processing unit and adapting the processing depending on the processing parameter, and processing the sample in the cartridge with the processing unit.
