METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR READING MACHINE-READABLE LABELS ON SAMPLE RECEPTACLES
A method for reading machine-readable labels on a plurality of sample receptacles held by a sample rack. The sample rack is moved between first and second positions within a housing and a label reader is activated at each of a plurality of predetermined position between the first and second positions to read the machine-readable label of each of the plurality of sample receptacles.

A cartridge device for analyzing a body liquid comprises a first member having a plurality of wells for performing assays, and a second member having a compartment for holding at least one disposable pipette tip.
Automated system and method of processing biological specimens
An apparatus including at least one of a stainer module and a coverslipper module; an imaging module; a storage module; an automated transport module for transporting at least one slide between at least one of the stainer module and the coverslipper module, the imaging module and the storage module; and a controller. A method including processing at least one slide; determining whether an imaging module is available for imaging of a biological specimen on the at least one slide; transporting the at least one slide to the imaging module using an automated transport module; and transporting the at least one slide to a storage module using the automated transport module when it is determined that the imaging module is not available. A system including a processing module for processing at least one slide including a biological specimen thereon. A machine readable medium.
Automatic analyzer
Provided is an automatic analyzer capable of switching an apparatus operation mode, such as automatic reexamination, without stopping measurement by efficiently using a rack. The automatic analyzer includes a storage unit that stores an operation mode, such as automatic reexamination, of the automatic analyzer, a detection unit that detects an operation mode switching rack inserted into an insertion unit, and a control unit that switches the operation mode stored in the storage unit on the basis of the detection of the operation mode switching rack by the detection unit. The control unit applies the switched operation mode to an examination object rack transported from the insertion unit to a transport line after the operation mode switching rack.
Analysis device and method for testing a sample
An analysis device and a method for testing a biological sample uses a cartridge that is received in the analysis device and valves of the cartridge being opened automatically.
Systems and methods for tissue sample processing
Tissue sample management systems include a central network, a medical professional system, and a pathology lab system for processing a tissue sample in a matrix having a sectionable code. At least the pathology lab system includes at least one imaging device, and the central network is configured to process images from the at least one imaging device to identify and record at least the sectionable code of the matrix. Methods for tissue sample processing include providing a matrix having a sectionable code and measurement marks, the matrix for receiving a tissue sample, and identifying the sectionable code from an image taken of the tissue sample in the matrix. Tissue sample-receiving matrices include a sectionable alphanumeric code or bar code, a tissue sample receptacle, and measurement marks formed along a sidewall thereof. The matrices include one or more proteins and one or more lipids.
Image-based tray alignment and tube slot localization in a vision system
A method of tube slot localization is provided using a tray coordinate system and a camera coordinate system. The method includes receiving, a series of images from at least one camera of a tray comprising tube slots arranged in a matrix of rows and columns. Each tube slot is configured to receive a sample tube. The method also includes automatically detecting fiducial markers disposed on cross sectional areas between the tube slots on the tray and receiving an encoder value indicating when each row of the tray is substantially at the center of the camera's field of view. The method further includes determining calibration information to provide mapping of locations from the tray coordinate system to locations from the camera coordinate system and automatically aligning the tray based on the encoder value and calibration information.
Methods for reading machine-readable labels on sample receptacles
A method of reading machine-readable labels on sample receptacles held by a sample rack. In the method, an absolute position of the sample rack is measured as the sample rack moves between first and second positions in a housing. During movement between the first and second positions, an image is acquired of a machine-readable label associated with each sample receptacle held by the sample rack. The image of each machine-readable label is thereafter decoded.
Automated sampling device
A sample identification system for an automated sampling and dispensing device is described. In an example implementation, the sample identification system includes a sample probe configured to contact a sample positioned within a sample vessel. Further, the sample identification system includes an identifier capture device configured to measure a sample identifier associated with the sample vessel and generate a data signal in response thereto, where the data signal corresponds to an identity of the at least one sample. During operation, the identifier capture device scans a sample holder, a sample vessel, or a table top of the automated sampling and dispensing device to measure the sample identifier and to generate the data signal in response thereto.
SAMPLE INJECTOR
A sample injector is configured to determine an amount of movement of a piston for injecting a sample into an analyzer based on a preset amount of the sample to be injected into the analyzer and information of a first identification code about an internal volume read by an optical sensor.
