A reagent-bottle lid opening mechanism is disclosed, which has a needle for piercing a lid of a reagent bottle to be delivered to a reagent disk, has an aligning mechanism of automatically adjusting a position of the needle with respect to the lid such that a needle body of the needle can stick in the center of the lid, and accurately and repeatedly makes an incision in the center of the lid. As a result, an automatic analyzer is provided that is capable of unsealing the center of the lid of the reagent bottle with accuracy even if the central axis of the needle and the central axis of the lid are offset from each other.

SAMPLE CONTAINER HANDLING WITH AUTOMATED CAP REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT AND DRIP CONTROL

A sample processing station includes two or more container holders on a platform that is rotatable about a central axis of rotation. Each holder is configured to rotate about a secondary axis of rotation. The station includes a capping/decapping mechanism to cap or decap a container held in one of the container holders and a drip tray movable between a first position not under the capping/decapping mechanism and a second position under the capping/decamping mechanism.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC CLOSURE OF SAMPLE VESSELS
20240280601 · 2024-08-22 ·

A system and method for automatic closure of sample vessels such as vessels with medical laboratory samples, having a plurality of identically shaped, stackable closure caps with a convex outer face and concave inner face that are stacked in a closure cap stack such that an upper closure cap in the stack bears with its convex outer face on the concave inner face of a lower closure cap lying immediately below in the stack. The system includes a closure gripper for gripping an uppermost closure cap from the stack, for transferring the gripped closure cap to the sample vessel to be closed, and for introducing the gripped closure cap into an opening of the sample vessel in order to tightly close the opening. The closure gripper has a centering piece insertable into a closure cap such that it bears on the concave inner face of the closure cap.

Charge devices having positioning devices and processes for closing receptacles with venting

A charge device is provided that includes a charge barrel having a charge. The charge barrel has an exit aperture and a flexible positioning device at the exit aperture. The charge is located inside the charge barrel. The charge barrel is adapted and arranged so that the charge is able to exit the charge barrel via the exit aperture.

Method for processing specimen and specimen processing system

A method for processing a specimen includes controlling a robot to open a lid of a composite container. The composite container includes a first container and a second container. The first container includes a first opening. The second container includes an insertion portion, a protrusion portion, and a second opening. The insertion portion is insertable into the first container through the first opening. The protrusion portion is protrudable through the first opening. The second opening is disposed on the protrusion portion and coverable by the lid. After the lid has been opened, the robot is controlled to take the second container out of the first container. After the second container has been taken out of the first container, the robot is controlled to cover the first opening using the lid.

System for processing closed sample tubes

A method for processing sample tubes comprising biological samples is presented. The method comprises transporting a sample tube closed by a closure to a first work cell, removing the closure with a first decapping/recapping device; withdrawing from the sample tube a sample aliquot with a pipetting unit for processing by the first work cell and/or dispensing liquid into the sample tube and/or determining a sample parameter with an analytical unit, reclosing the sample tube with a closure with the first decapping/recapping device, transporting the sample tube to a second work cell, removing the closure with a second decapping/recapping device, and withdrawing from the sample tube a sample aliquot with a pipetting unit for processing by the second work cell and/or dispensing a volume of liquid into the sample tube and/or determining a sample parameter of the sample with of an analytical unit.
