MEDICAL APPARATUS FOR STANDING AID

A medical apparatus for standing aid comprising a backrest (4) that has at least one side thereof provided with a crank rocker mechanism that comprises a crank mechanism (1), a triangular linkage mechanism (2), and a rocker mechanism (3), the crank mechanism (1) being rotatably connected to the triangular linkage mechanism (2) such that an included angle between a second driven link (BE) of the triangular linkage mechanism (2) and the crank mechanism (1) is always smaller than 90°, and the crank mechanism (1) driving the triangular linkage mechanism (2), the rocker mechanism (3) and the backrest (4) connected to the triangular linkage mechanism (2) to perform interactive movement repeatedly along a predetermined curve trajectory in response to a driving force coming from a drive effect of a driving unit (100), so that the backrest (4) connected to the second driven link (BE) assists a trainee in standing up repeatedly by obliquely supporting the trainee's waist.

Medical device for therapeutic stimulation of the vestibular system

A method for providing vestibular stimulation includes: providing an infant in a vestibular stimulation device; associating sensors to the infant; moving the vestibular stimulation device to provide vestibular stimulation treatment; and obtaining sensor data during the treatment. The vestibular stimulation device includes a holder member; a platform; a mechanical system coupling the holder member to the platform; sensors configured to detect one or more parameters of the infant; and a computing system having a user input and/or output interface operably coupled to the mechanical system and the sensors to provide mechanical data to the mechanical system in order to control movement of the holder member relative to the platform and to collect the one or more parameters of the living subject from the sensors.

A system includes a guidance device that provides feedback to a user to compress a patient's chest at a rate of between about 90 and 110 compressions per minute and at a depth of between about 4.5 centimeters to about 6 centimeters. The system includes a pressure regulation system having a pressure-responsive valve that is configured to be coupled to a patient's airway. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed during successive chest compressions in order to permit removal at least about 200 ml from the lungs in order to lower intracranial pressure to improve survival with favorable neurological function. The pressure-responsive valve is configured to remain closed until the negative pressure within the patient's airway reaches about −7 cm H.sub.2O, at which time the pressure-responsive valve is configured to open to provide respiratory gases to flow to the lungs through the pressure-responsive valve.

A system and method for mechanical CPR can include a device for providing compressive force to various locations on a patient, and biological monitoring systems to measure the effectiveness of the various locations of compressive force in pumping blood through the patient. The system can also include providing decompressive force to increase the efficacy of blood flow.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PHYSICAL TRAINING AND REHABILITATION

The present invention relates to a system for assisting a person in walking, comprising a measurement unit for measuring physiological data including vital sign data and movement data of the person; an activity ability determination unit which is configured to determine a frailty state of the person based on the vital sign data, and to determine walking characteristics of the person based on the movement data; an activity program unit which is configured to select and continuously update a walking program based on the determined frailty state of the person and the determined walking characteristics of the person.

Systems and methods for user control of electronic chairs

Systems and methods for operating a vending machine and/or kiosk. The methods comprise: detecting a presence of a person in a seat of the vending machine; obtaining a full or partial body heat map for the person that was created based on sensor data generated by at least one sensor of the vending machine or at least one sensor located in proximity to the vending machine (the full or partial heat map showing relative temperatures of different parts of a body of the person); selecting at least one vending service parameter for the vending machine using information obtained based on the full or partial body heat map; and causing the vending machine to provide the person with a vending service in accordance with the at least one vending service parameter that was selected.

User-customized delivery of streamed multi-sensory media to a vibroacoustic therapy bed

A multi-sensory media experience delivery platform includes a vibroacoustic therapy bed that delivers a multi-sensory media experience locally stored, streaming, on-demand, or real-time signals. The vibroacoustic therapy bed drives a plurality of sensory output devices based on a set of sensory output channels to produce sounds, vibrations, light patterns, or other sensory outputs. The channels may be derived from dedicated signals created for a specific sensory output device or may be derived from an audio file or other general set of waveforms. The multi-sensory media experience may be customized to a user based on user profile data, metadata associated with the multi-sensory media experience, or biometric data. Furthermore, users can create customized multi-sensory media experiences from libraries of sounds or other media.

In an embodiment, a compression garment can include one or more of a flex frame, a shape memory material, a backing, and a control module. In some variations, the flex frame can include a set of support regions, a set of cutout regions, a set of bridges, one or more terminals, and one or more rotation points. In some variations, the compression garment 100 can further include a fabric sleeve, one or more fasteners, a power module, and/or any other suitable component. The compression garment functions as a compression device (e.g., to improve circulation, enhance muscle recovery, etc.), and can additionally or alternatively function as a passive compression device, a heating and/or cooling device, or perform any other suitable functionality.

Patient therapy and patient condition sensing devices and methods can be operated as a function of estimated internal hydrostatic pressure of a body part, for example at a position where a pressure or compression therapy is applied. Information relating to a patient's position, posture, ambulation and/or a physiological condition such as blood pressure can be used to control pressure or compression therapy.
