REAGENT AND METHOD FOR MEASURING THROMBIN-ANTITHROMBIN COMPLEX
Provided is a reagent for assaying a thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT) in a blood sample from a subject by latex agglutination assay. The reagent includes a polycation. As a result, TAT complexes can be precisely assayed while circumventing the effect of heparin. POINT OF CARE TESTING SYSTEM FOR ANTITHROMBIN III
Compounds and compositions for determining the level of antithrombin (ATIII) in a sample are described along with a system for determining the level of ATIII in a point-of-care setting. Methods of forming the compounds and compositions are also described. Methods of using the compounds and compositions to quantify the level of ATIII in a subject are further described. A system and apparatus are provided that determine the level of ATIII in a point-of-care setting in an efficient manner to facilitate determining a dosage or heparin or ATIII to administer to a patient.
FACTOR Xa REAGENT
An example composition includes factor Xa, a substrate, one or more of guanidine derivatives, and, in some cases, heparin. An example method for detecting an anticoagulant in a sample includes combining or contacting the sample with the composition and measuring activity of the factor Xa based on a state of the substrate. The composition modulates the activity of the factor Xa in the sample, where modulation includes reducing a rate of coagulation of the sample caused by factor Xa. A presence of the anticoagulant is based on the activity of the factor Xa.
