ADMINISTRATION OF A VACCINE OR EMERGENCY ADMINISTRATION OF A MEDICAMENT USING A DENTAL CARPULE
An illustrated view of an exemplary emergency kit for use in an emergency medical condition and a method for automating the ordering of the emergency kits for dentist is presented. The emergency kit is useful for providing short-term medical relief in an emergency while waiting for ambulance or other emergency medical personnel to arrive at the scene. The emergency kit provides a useful medical syringe for use by a dentist in a mouth of a patient experiencing an emergency medical condition.
Apparatus and method for buffering solutions
The present invention is directed to a method an apparatus for buffering an anesthetic solution prior to an injection. The inventive apparatus employs a modified carpule which hold two solutions in fluid isolation. The buffering solution is separated from the anesthetic solution within the same carpule by way of a fluid impervious thin film. The thin film has a weakened central area which can be easily pierced by a harpoon affixed to one side of a plunger. As the plunger is advanced forward, the harpoon breaks through the thin film and causes mixing of the two solutions.
Primary packaging for storage and administration of medical and pharmaceutical compounds
A primary packaging for storage and/or administration of medical or pharmaceutical compounds includes a container that has a predetermined filling volume for receiving a medical or pharmaceutical compound. The container is permanently closed at a first end and has an integrally formed, circumferential flange portion at an open second end. The container has a cylindrical barrel that extends between the first end and the flange portion such that the barrel has an inner diameter and outer diameter corresponding to that of a standardized syringe for a nominal volume of the standardized syringe corresponding to the predetermined filling volume. Furthermore, a cross-sectional shape of the flange portion corresponds to the cross-sectional shape of a flange of a standardized vial. The primary packaging also includes a closure element that is adapted to fit tightly on the flange portion and into the barrel for sealing the open second end of the container.
Mixing Element for Container Assemblies
A container assembly with improved mixing dynamics for mixing substances in preparation for injection by an injection device or for the dispersion of additives in the collection and analysis of biological samples is disclosed. In one configuration, the container assembly includes a first mixing element protruding into an interior of a container. With the container rotated about its longitudinal axis, the first mixing element forms at least one vortex which effectuates mixing of a first substance provided within the container interior and a second substance provided within the container interior.
Coded collapsible drug reservoir
A coded collapsible drug reservoir and a drug delivery system including the coded collapsible drug reservoir. The drug reservoir includes a collapsible housing and a port in communication with the collapsible housing. The drug reservoir further includes a coding feature disposed on the drug reservoir, and the coding feature identifies the drug reservoir.
FORMULATIONS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR ORTHO- AND/OR RETRO-NASAL DELIVERY AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS, METHODS AND ARTICLES
A composition of food or therapeutic and other substances for administration as a cloud of droplets, the cloud comprising readily-soluble droplets having a median size range of approximately 3 microns to approximately 20 microns, or 5 microns to 10 microns, or 6 microns to 10 microns, for introduction to an animal via an ortho-nasal or retro-nasal route. Agonists or antagonists may include one or more of the following: sodium iodide, sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, capsaicin, piperine, linalool, ground cinnamon, a cannabinoid, pimento, onion, clove, thyme, ginger, menthol, or TRPV antagonists, and chocolate, Irish cream, caramel, lemon, lime, mango, raspberry, watermelon, blueberry, strawberry, mint, popcorn, meat, Resolvin D2 or nicotine. Devices for delivering compositions as an aerosol are described.
APPARATUS AND MACHINE FOR MAKING CUSTOMIZED FORMULATIONS BASED ON USER INPUT
The one or more embodiments disclosed herein provide a method for automatically assembling multiple compounds into a single edible custom composition, in which each compound is individually customized to proportions formulated from a profile of an individual or group. The single custom mixture can contain a plurality of compounds including foods or flavors, nutritional additives, herbals, biologics, or pharmacologically active substances. Using the method and a related algorithm, the formulation of a custom mixture is suggested.
ANTI-ROTATION CARTRIDGE PIN
A system is disclosed for inserting a pharmaceutical cartridge into a delivery device. Optionally the cartridge is inserted in an arbitrary orientation. Optionally, the system reorients the cartridge to a locked orientation. For example, a driver applies a torque to the cartridge to cause the reorienting. For example, said torque rotates the cartridge around an axis thereof until the cartridge reaches the locked orientation. Optionally, when the cartridge reaches the locked orientation an interference element on the cartridge interlocks with a complementary interference element on the delivery device to lock the cartridge in the locked orientation. Optionally when the cartridge is locked in the second orientation, the torque causes discharge the pharmaceutical.
Antistatic coatings for plastic vessels
A method of reducing static charge of a plastic container is provided. The method includes providing a PECVD coating of SiCOH, SiO.sub.x or SiOH to an external support surface of the container. The PECVD coating reduces static charge of the container compared to a reference container that is essentially identical to the container except that the reference container is uncoated.
Two-chamber carpule
The disclosure provides a two-chamber carpule comprising two-chambers adapted to be joined together. Each chamber is adapted to contain a medicament component. The carpule further comprises a bevel arranged on a circumference of at least one of the chambers in a transition area. The bevel extends from one chamber to the other chamber.
