The present disclosure relates to a measuring system for measuring a measured object, in particular a plastic profile, said measuring system comprising: an antenna arrangement of THz transceivers each at times actively emitting a THz transmission beam and passively receiving reflected THz radiation, where said antenna arrangement outputs measuring signals of the measurements of the THz transceivers, an adjustment means for adjusting the antenna arrangement into several measuring positions along an adjustment direction, a control and evaluation device for receiving and evaluating the measuring signals which is configured such that the measuring signals are evaluated by means of a synthetic aperture radar evaluation process and a virtual model of the boundary surfaces of the measured object is created, and subsequently the control and evaluation device determines layer thicknesses between the boundary surfaces from the virtual model.
Direction finding using signal power
A method of determining incident angles of Radio Frequency, RF, signals received by an antenna array comprising a plurality of antennae is described. The method comprises generating a plurality of direction finding, DF, signals based on antenna signals received from the antenna array, wherein each DF signal corresponds to a respective antenna array element and each antenna array element corresponds to one or more antennae. A plurality of DF spectra are then generated, each DF spectrum corresponding to a respective DF signal and comprising measured values of signal power at two or more given respective frequencies. An incident signal angle is calculated for each given frequency, based on the measured values of power at the frequency, the configuration of the antennae in the antenna array and antenna gain patterns corresponding to the antenna array elements.
Direction finding using signal power
A method of determining incident angles of Radio Frequency, RF, signals received by an antenna array comprising a plurality of antennae is described. The method comprises generating a plurality of direction finding, DF, signals based on antenna signals received from the antenna array, wherein each DF signal corresponds to a respective antenna array element and each antenna array element corresponds to one or more antennae. A plurality of DF spectra are then generated, each DF spectrum corresponding to a respective DF signal and comprising measured values of signal power at two or more given respective frequencies. An incident signal angle is calculated for each given frequency, based on the measured values of power at the frequency, the configuration of the antennae in the antenna array and antenna gain patterns corresponding to the antenna array elements.

A measuring device for providing an angle of departure determining test signal to a device under test, is provided. The measuring device comprises a signal generator and a single output port. The signal generator is adapted to generate the angle of departure determining test signal, emulating an antenna array angle of departure determining signal, comprised of a plurality of individual array antenna signals, thereby emulating an angle of departure of the angle of departure determining test signal. The single output port is adapted to output the angle of departure determining test signal to the device under test.
