PROCESS FOR PREPARING FILLED HARD-SHELL CAPSULES WITH CELLULOSE OR STARCH-BASED COATINGS WITH A CAPSULE-FILLING MACHINE

A process can be used for preparing a polymer coated hard-shell capsule, filled with a fill containing a biologically active ingredient. The hard-shell capsule contains a body and a cap, and in a closed state, the cap overlaps the body in a pre-locked state or a final-locked state. The material of the body and cap contains an ethyl-, methyl-, or propyl-ether of cellulose, starch, or pullulan. The hard-shell capsule is coated with a coating layer, containing one or more anionic cellulose(s), ethyl cellulose, and/or one or more starches comprising at least 35% by weight of amylose, where the coating layer is present in an amount of about 1 to 5.8 mg/cm.sup.2. The process involves providing the polymer-coated hard-shell capsule in the pre-locked state to a capsule-filling machine, separating the body and the cap, filling the body with the fill, and rejoining the body and the cap in the final-locked state.

Capsule filling apparatus

Disclosed is a capsule filling apparatus. The capsule filling apparatus includes a supplying member configured to supply a tablet; a moving member configured to move the tablet supplied from the supplying member in a preset direction; a catching member configured to catch the tablet moved by the moving member by suction and insert the caught tablet into a capsule; and a capsule accommodating member located below the catching member so that the capsule is accommodated therein.

SMART TAMPING SYSTEM FOR DOSAGE OPTIMIZATION IN CAPSULE FILLING MACHINE

The present invention relates to a tamping system (100) for tamping of filler materials of capsule filling machine to form slug, and selectively delivering the slug from a dosing disc (108) based on the presence/absence of empty capsule bodies in an empty capsule segment in a turret of capsule filling machine. The tamping system (100) based on the presence/absence of empty capsule bodies in the empty capsule segment, enables actuation of pneumatic cylinders (113) to restrict movement of tamping pistons (110) into the respective holes of the dosing disc (108) that were configured to be align with the empty capsule segments of the turret where no capsule bodies were identified or present, irrespective of the downward movement of the holder blocks (111) towards the dosing disc (108), thereby restricting the delivery of the slug into empty capsule segment of the turret, and preventing wastage of the filler material or slug.

PRE-FILLING SYSTEM TO ELIMINATE BUBBLES INSIDE CAPSULES HAVING A SOLID DOSAGE FORMS WITHIN SAID CAPSULES

The invention provides a rotary die mold process for manufacturing softgel capsules incorporating another solid form within said capsule and wherein said softgel capsule is free of air bubbles, in which at least two material strips are brought together by means of counter-running forming rolls and formed into capsules, a liquid and solid filling material being introduced via a filling wedge segment comprising two concave wedge surfaces; a filling medicine inlet; a fill medicine outlet; an output of solids and pre-fill medicine; a solids feed channel and pre-fill medicine; a pre-filling medicine inlet and a solids inlet. A softgel capsule free of air bubbles having incorporated within said capsule a second solid form, said second solid form being the form of a tablet.
