A device is described for protecting a sensor window. The device includes a two-piece nozzle system and is configured for generating a first and a second fluid flow, a first piece of the two-piece nozzle system being fixedly situated with respect to the sensor window, and a second piece of the two-piece nozzle system being configured for assuming different positions with respect to the first piece of the two-piece nozzle system, and the two-piece nozzle system being aligned with respect to the sensor window to direct a predominant portion of the first fluid flow in parallel to the sensor window and to direct a predominant portion of the second fluid flow in the direction onto the sensor window.

Sensor housing with particle blocking feature

This technology relates to a system for preventing particle buildup on a sensor housing. The system may include a sensor housing including a first surface, a motor, and a spoiler edge. The motor may be configured to rotate the sensor housing around an axis. The spoiler edge may be positioned adjacent to the first surface and extended away from the first surface perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the sensor housing.

Sensor apparatus with cleaning

A sensor apparatus includes a sensor window, a nozzle head coupled to the sensor window and including a first orifice and a second orifice, and a deflector fixed relative to the sensor window. The first orifice is shaped to discharge onto a first region of the sensor window. The second orifice is shaped to discharge onto a second region of the sensor window. The deflector is positioned to deflect at least some of the discharge from the second orifice onto a third region of the sensor window.

An optical face protection apparatus is provided having a support body, at least one lens and an elongate heating element. The support body is configured to be supported on a user. The at least one lens is carried by the support body and is configured to hold the at least one lens over an eye facial region of a user. The elongate heating element has an elongate tube and a heat source provided in the tube, carried by the body and configured to traverse an expansive surface area of the at least one lens.

SENSOR ASSEMBLY WITH CLEANING

Upon determining an autonomous mode for a vehicle is activated, a motor is actuated to move a wiper across a windshield in a low mode based on determining to clean the windshield. A blower is actuated to direct air across a sensor. Then, after expiration of a first timer, a pump is actuated according to a pressure threshold to direct fluid through a fluid nozzle and across the windshield towards the sensor. The pressure threshold specifies a fluid pressure less than a maximum fluid pressure for the pump. The pump is stopped after expiration of a second timer.

Radar system and radar sensing system having the same

According to a radar system according to these embodiments, by mounting a radar antenna, an RF device, and a controller on an upper face and a lower face of a circuit board, the size and the cost can be reduced by decreasing the number of constituent components, and the reliability and the durability can be improved by discharging heat generated in the circuit board to the outside.

Assembly for sensor cleaning with solenoid

An assembly includes an inlet tube. The assembly includes a first outlet tube. The assembly includes a solenoid assembly having a plunger movable between an open position in which fluid is permitted to flow from the inlet tube to the outlet tube and a closed position in which fluid is inhibited from flowing from the inlet tube to the outlet tube. The solenoid assembly has a spring urging the plunger to the closed position. The solenoid assembly has a strain gage fixed to the spring. A strain detected by the strain gage indicates whether the plunger is at the closed position.
