STORAGE AND DISPENSING DEVICES FOR ADMINISTRATION OF ORAL TRANSMUCOSAL DOSAGE FORMS
Dispensing devices and systems for oral transmucosal administration of small volume drug dosage forms to the oral mucosa are provided. The dispensing device may be a single dose applicator (SDA), or an electromechanical device comprising a means for patient identification such as a wrist worn RFID tag and annular bidirectional antenna together with a lock-out feature.
Medication intelligent device
A medical intelligent device is for use with a medical jar. The medical jar defines an accommodating space for containing at least one medicine. The medication intelligent device includes a cover and an auxiliary medicine deliver. The cover is detachably mounted on the medical jar. The auxiliary medicine deliver is disposed on the cover and includes a main control chip and a medicine delivery gate electrically connected to the main control chip. The main control chip is used to move the gate between a closed position and an opened position relative to the cover. In the closed position, the medicine delivery gate closes the accommodating space. In the opened position, the medicine delivery gate opens the accommodating space.
SMART PILL ORGANIZER TO FACILITATE PATIENT ADHERENCE BY REMOTELY MONITORING MEDICINE USAGE IN A HOME
A smart pill organizer or pillbox facilitates patient adherence by remotely monitoring medicine usage in a home. A patient web site is accessible locally on the Wi-Fi network by the patient or remotely over the Internet by a guardian who can be a relative, health care provider, or service. Remote pillbox access is also available through a set of email and text commands. Dose types include pillbox doses in pill tray bins, external doses in their original medicine containers, and remote doses taken away from home. Dose frequencies include monthly, weekly, daily, and multiple doses per day. Local and remote dose reminders are provided. Pillbox doses are recorded when the pillbox bin opens, while external and remote doses are recorded with replies to email and text reminders. Real time numerical adherence measures ranging from 0 to 100% are provided for dose quantity, dose timing, dose spacing, and overall adherence.
CONNECTED MEDICATION DISPENSER
Apparatus and associated software and methods for improving medication adherence. A connected medication dispenser includes a robotic arm adapted to deliver a prescribed medication dose to a patient in their home, and software and sensors that analyze the patient's compliance, communicate with external health sensors to monitor the patient's response to the dose, and communicate with external servers to send the result of providing the medication dose to the patient. In an illustrative example, the patient may be a chronic, acute, or terminal illness patient, and the results may be communicated with physicians, payers, caregivers, a pharmacy, and/or the patient's electronic health record. The flow of information may allow the physician or caregiver to offer real-time adjustments to the medication type, dose, and schedule to provide improved therapeutic outcomes.
CAP ASSEMBLY FOR A MEDICATION CONTAINER
The medication container includes a receptacle that has an inner space for holding medications. The cap assembly is coupled with the receptacle for retaining the medications in the inner space. The cap assembly includes at least one passage that can be selectively opened and closed and includes at least one medication sensor that is configured to detect any medications travelling through the passage and out of the receptacle in a contactless manner. A microprocessor is in electrical communication with the at least one medication sensor and with a memory. The microprocessor is configured to record data to the memory in response to the at least one medication sensor detecting a medication travelling through the passage. A wireless module is in electrical communication with the microprocessor for uploading the data to an external device.
Method and apparatus of secure storage for dispensing of opioids (SSDO)
A method and apparatus for Secure Storage and Dispensing of Opioid (SSDO) or other controlled substances while providing remote assistance and monitoring. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a motorized medication tray for automatic dispensing of pills with optional blister pack containing sealed medication. The device further comprises of a secure tamper resistant housing mechanism, plurality of sensors along with a wireless communication module to notify the remote operators in case of illegal and unauthorized access. The current invention can be configured into multiple embodiments including but not limited to a mobile wearable device capable of attaching to a person's wrist, arm, foot and other body parts.
Method of monitoring medication regimen with portable apparatus
A method of monitoring medication regimen with portable apparatus installed with a blister monitoring software for collecting patient compliance data, including one or multiple blister packages, a unique identification code disposed on each package. An embodiment of the invention includes steps of: logging patient into blister monitoring software with personal credential; capturing image of blister package using portable apparatus; analyzing image of blister package and obtaining unique identification code of package; crosschecking patient identity with package identification code to prevent false medication; automatically recording medication time and remaining tablets or capsules inside blister package. The method of the invention prevents false medication and enables doctors and nurses to remotely track patient's progress in real-time, thus increasing medication compliance.
Personal prescription dispenser
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for transporting and dispensing medications for a patient according to a medication schedule for the patient. A smart container from a pharmacy is received at the patient's site and the container is checked to make sure that the container was delivered to the correct patient site. The smart container contains a memory device that contains identification information of the patient, dosage and treatment instructions for the patient. This information and the medication were checked for compatibility before the smart container was delivered. The identity of the patient at the patient's site is then checked and the patient performs on or more biometric tests before the medication is dispensed by the smart container. Upon taking the medication and providing video proof thereof, the smart container is returned to the pharmacy.
Performance mode adjustment based on activity detection
Disclosed herein are techniques related to device performance mode adjustment based on activity detection. In some embodiments, the techniques involve detecting, based on processing sensor data obtained from one or more gesture sensors, an activity in which a user of the one or more gesture sensors is engaged. The techniques further involve generating information corresponding to the detected activity in which the user of the one or more gesture sensors is engaged. The techniques also involve controlling, based on providing the generated information to a device for monitoring a physiological characteristic of the user, adjustment of a performance mode of the device for monitoring the physiological characteristic of the user.
Unobtrusive wireless electronic systems for monitoring and facilitating patient compliance
Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for monitoring the dispensing of a fluid from a container. In one aspect, a system includes a conformal substrate including a mechanically flexible and an electrically insulative material, the substrate attached and conformed to a container containing a fluid; a data acquisition unit including a sensor and a signal processing circuit formed on the conformal substrate, in which the sensor transduces an occurrence of the fluid dispensing from the container into an electrical signal, and the signal processing circuit amplifies the electrical signal; a data processing unit formed on the conformal substrate and in communication with the data acquisition unit to process the amplified electrical signal as data; and a communications unit formed on the conformal substrate and in communication with the data processing unit to wirelessly transmit the processed data to a remote device.
