The container sensor is adapted to sense a condition of the storage container, and the delivery device sensor is adapted to sense a condition of the at least one drug delivery device. The controller is adapted to instruct the container condition change mechanism and/or the delivery device change mechanism to impart a change on at least one condition of the storage container and/or the drug delivery device.
System, method, and module for integrated medication management
Systems, methods, and modules providing integrated medication management utilizing a medication management module. The module comprises cartridge slots, a pill extractor, a pill dispenser, and processors. The method includes receiving patient data of a patient, storing the patient data, and determining a presence of pill cartridges and pills. The module scans a cartridge label corresponding to the patient and the pills and authenticates the cartridges based on the patient data and the pills. The system determines, in response to authenticating, a medication regimen based on the patient data and pills and extracts pills from the pill cartridges. The module ensures verifying a correct extraction of pills and dispensing the pills at a predetermined time in a predetermined amount based on the medication plan. The module verifies a correct dispensing of pills at the predetermined time in the predetermined amount.
PERSONAL PRESCRIPTION DISPENSER
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for transporting and dispensing medications for a patient according to a medication schedule for the patient. A smart container from a pharmacy is received at the patient's site and the container is checked to make sure that the container was delivered to the correct patient site. The smart container contains a memory device that contains identification information of the patient, dosage and treatment instructions for the patient. This information and the medication were checked for compatibility before the smart container was delivered. The identity of the patient at the patient's site is then checked and the patient performs on or more biometric tests before the medication is dispensed by the smart container. Upon taking the medication and providing video proof thereof, the smart container is returned to the pharmacy.
MEDICATION COMPLIANCE DEVICE
The invention relates to a portable drug dispenser system that includes a chamber for holding a plurality of separately contained medication canisters, a dispensing mechanism for dispensing one or more of the plurality of medication products from the medication canisters, and includes a processor to determine the time of each activation of the dispensing mechanism and to transmit the medication to a locked dispensing station which is only openable by either a password or biornetric means. The dispenser also includes a connection to a smart device to provide the user information and alarms.
PERSONALIZED DRUG DOSE DISPENSER AND METHOD
A dispensing system including a handheld dispenser and a dispenser controller. The handheld dispenser may have a housing, a cartridge removably disposed within the housing and containing a dose form to be dispensed, the dose form with an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), the cartridge having an internal piston movable within a reservoir containing the dose form and a port through a distal tip in communication with the reservoir, the distal tip being sized and configured to be inserted into the user's mouth. A motor disposed in the housing moves the piston to dispense a volume of the dose form from the cartridge through the port. The dispenser controller adjusts the volume of the dose form dispensed by the dispenser based on information about effectiveness of the API in treating a condition of the user.
MEDICATION DISPENSING SYSTEM
A medication dispensing system is provided with several cooperating components which help to accommodate the responsible handling of medications. These systems include a user interface to receive input from the user and to present appropriate information/notices/alarms. Further, physical controls and multiple sensors are provided to detect tampering, misuse, and attempts to inappropriately access medications contained within the dispensing system. This misuse can thus be detected, and appropriate notifications can be provided, where appropriate. Further, by adding network communications capabilities, notices can be widely communicated to others, and operation of the medication dispensing system can be controlled and/or monitored remotely.
Storage container
A storage device having a cylindrical housing with a first end, a second end and cylindrical side, wherein the ends are closed and the cylindrical side has one or more apertures. There is a cylindrical cover for each of the one or more apertures that slidably fit over the cylindrical side of the cylindrical housing and able to slide about the cylindrical side exposing or covering the one or more apertures.
INVENTORY SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
The present disclosure is directed to a dispenser that includes a receiving opening configured to receive a plurality of medical products into a cavity of the dispenser as an available inventory, wherein each of the plurality of medical products includes an identifier; a plurality of holders in the cavity, each of the plurality of holders configured to store at least one of the plurality of medical products in a fixed location that is associated with the one of the plurality of medical products, and each of the plurality of holders including a dispensing opening; at least two emitters and at least two sensors around a periphery of the receiving opening, wherein the at least two emitters and the at least two sensors are arranged around a periphery of the receiving opening on a plane that is substantially perpendicular to the plurality of dispensing openings; a processor; and a electronic storage device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEDICATION COMPLIANCE AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION
A medication compliance and drug abuse prevention device for use as a cap with conventional medication container. The neck of the cap is adapted for mating with the neck of any conventional medication container. The mating of the cap neck with the container neck forms a seal therebetween and the seal can be maintained in a locked or unlocked state as per requirement. The cap has a weighment module configured to measure a mass of a medicinal substance contained inside the container. A control module determines a difference in the mass of the medicinal substance measured before and after the unlocked state and initiate one or more alert actions if the difference in mass of the medicinal substance is found to be less than or more than a prescribed mass of medicinal substance.
