An activity monitor is associated with a container, such as a medication bottle, and includes one or more detectors configured to detect activity associated with the bottle, such as movement, opening and/or closing, and changes in volume and/or mass. The activity monitor may include alerting devices and be programmed with scheduling information. The activity monitor may also, or instead, communicate with one or more remote devices such as a user device or monitoring system, such as to receive programming information from those devices or to output activity information to those devices.

Timer based on chemical sensing

An elapsed timer device includes a timer element comprising a timer chamber, a timer chamber conditioning material disposed within the timer chamber, and a sensor arranged to sense a timer chemical within the timer chamber. The sensor indicates elapsed time in response to a threshold level of the chemical being present within the timer chamber. The timer chamber, timer chemical adsorption/desorption characteristics of the timer chamber conditioning material, and the sensor are configured so that an amount of the timer chemical within the timer chamber reaches the threshold level within a predetermined time after initialization of the timer element.

Medical Reminder and Dispensing Device
20180174674 · 2018-06-21 ·

A medication reminder and dispensing device includes a housing having at least one opening and at least one drawer containing at least one dose of a medication to be delivered to a patient. The drawer is slidably positioned in the opening and configured to move from a closed position to an open position. The device also includes at least one electromagnet connected to the housing or drawer configured to be transitioned between a first state and a second state. When in the first state, the electromagnet is configured to maintain the drawer in the closed position. When in the second state, the drawer automatically moves to the open position. The device also includes a processor configured to cause the at least one electromagnet to transition from the first state to the second state based on the pre-programmed schedule, thereby causing the drawer to automatically move to the open position.

DOSE TRACKING DEVICE
20240358598 · 2024-10-31 · ·

Aspects of a dose tracking device configured for use with commercial packages or blister cards of medicaments are disclosed. Disclosed tracking devices track the removal of medicament doses from the blister cards with which they are associated. Certain disclosed aspects concern an electronic tracking module comprising plural voltage sensors electrically coupled to a circuit trace that is applied to a medicament blister card obtained commercially or provided by a health care provider. The circuit trace comprises plural circuits that align with medicament blisters containing a medicament dose. When a dose is dispensed from a blister, a corresponding circuit of the circuit trace is broken, indicating that the dose has been dispensed. Patient dosing information can be conveyed to a remote server for monitoring and data storage.

Locked pill bottle with timed dispense limits
09974713 · 2018-05-22 ·

The disclosed pill bottle allows for timed dispensing of medicine, as programmed by a physician, pharmacist, or caregiver. The device has a slot for pill entry in any one of the walls, the slot being sealable and lockable. In an unlocked and open condition, the slot is a portal from the outside of the bottle into an inner cavity, the cavity being adapted for pill storage and extending between the slot/opening for pill entry and an exit tube. The exit tube is sized for single-file passage of a plurality of pills. A button or blocking device (defined as a mechanical and/or physical object which prevents movement of a pill out of the device) is movable only at pre-programmed intervals of time, allowing the exit of a pill or dosage of pills.

Automatic Medication Dispenser with Electronic Thermometer
20180132785 · 2018-05-17 ·

An automatic medication dispenser with electronic thermometer. The automatic medication dispenser provides for the delivery of medication to a user upon detection of a body temperature above a predetermined amount. A housing can receive a cartridge having medication and dispense the medication through a valve, a tubular member, and a mouthpiece. An electronic thermometer detects the body temperature and also displays the body temperature on the housing. The body temperature determines if the valve allows for a dose of the medication to be administered.

Systems and devices for controlling delivery of breast milk supplementation

Systems and devices for controlling delivery of a breast milk supplement are described which include a substrate sized for placement on a surface of a breast region of a lactating female, one or more supplement reservoirs associated with the substrate, at least one of the one or more supplement reservoirs including a port with a controllable valve, a data storage component including a breast milk supplement regimen; and a control unit including a microprocessor and circuitry, the control unit operably coupled to the data storage component and to the controllable valve of the at least one of the one or more supplement reservoirs, the circuitry including actuation circuitry configured to actuate the controllable valve of the at least one of the one or more supplement reservoirs based on the breast milk supplement regimen.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROMOTING MEDICATION ADHERENCE

A system for promoting medication adherence is provided. The system may receive medical information and medication access information via a medication adherence device, the medication adherence device having a housing configured to be removably coupled to a medicine container top and an access switch, the access switch generating medication access information when the housing is uncoupled from the medicine container top. The information may be used to form one or more blind spots which may be representative of symptoms of glaucoma and which may be produced on the display screen of a patient's client device. The system may use Gamblification and/or Gamification in which a blind spot obscures portions of a game of chance program and/or novelty game type program, respectively, from being observed on the display screen of the client device. As medical information and medication compliance information is received, the number, size, opacity, and/or shape of the blind spots produced on the display screen of a patient's client device may change to provide actual perception of visual loss which spurs patients to compliance.
