An intervention and timing thereof are determined for the user based on the user context. The intervention is implemented on the user at the determining timing of the intervention.
Apparatus and method for dispensing medication
Disclosed is an invention for dispensing multiple medications to a patient over an extended period of days up to several times a day. The system includes a carousel with storage bins and a delivery bin on its periphery. A vacuum system and a vacuum probe with a vacuum cup at the end of the probe for grasping and holding by an induced vacuum a dosage of medication located in a storage bin and moving it to a dispending or delivery bin. The system includes a programmable computer to control the system and sequence the proper dispensing of the medication at the predesignated times.

An automated pill dispensing device includes a housing containing a rotatable platform on which a series of individual containers rest. There is provided a device, a method and a system for managing and monitoring the medication of a patient. The medication storage and retrieval device (21) for managing and monitoring use of medication, the device (21) comprises a housing (122); a movable support (123) coupled to the housing; one or more containers (1) removably positionable within the housing of the device locatable on the support, each container being configured to store a medication, the medication provided in a loose form such as tablets or pills. The device (21) has a first closed configuration when the movable support (123) and containers thereon (1) are stowed within the housing, and a second open configuration when the movable support (123) and said containers (1) thereon are located outside the housing for access by a user to allow retrieval of medication from a container, as required. The device comprises an imaging device (11) configured to capture one or more images of each container and its contents, being the medication contained therein at the time of capture of the image, the time of capture of each image being related to a device use event. The imaging device (11) is configured to capture a first image of each container and contents before it is made accessible to a user, and to capture a second image of each container and contents after it has been accessible to the user. The images and other use data are processed to determine for each device use event one or more of: the identity of the type of medication contained in each container, the quantity of medication in the container before access and after access, the difference in the quantity of medication in the container before access and after access.
