Sensor array, method of making same, and related medication compliance monitoring techniques
A sensor array, method of making same, and related medication compliance monitoring techniques are disclosed. In some embodiments, the array may include a plurality of electrically conductive traces including first and second electrically conductive traces that are electrically isolated from one another. The array also may include an electrically resistive element coupled with the first and second electrically conductive traces. The array may be configured to interface with a medication dispenser such that: the electrically resistive element is disposed over at least one medication compartment of the medication dispenser; and in expelling contents of the at least one medication compartment of the medication dispenser, the electrically resistive element is broken. In some embodiments, the array may be configured for use, for example, in monitoring medication compliance.
Pill-Safe
A substance-dispensing device that is programmed by a healthcare provider and whose bulk medication supply is inaccessible to a patient or user at one time. The user will only have access to the dose programmed by the healthcare provider at a specified time and not have access to the internal supply of the medication. The dispensing device denies medication requests to anyone except those authorized by the healthcare provider. The dispensing device keeps a record of the device access and functions performed in the database of the device. The dispensing device will only dispense medication when medication is requested and only if the medication is due. The dispensing device is re-usable and may only be setup by the prescribing authority and filled by the healthcare provider or pharmacist who is assigned to the device.
Pill management and health monitoring system
A system and method for the dispensing of medication in the form of pills and also to monitor health parameters is disclosed. The system comprises a modular system having a main control module; a plurality of pill dispensing modules in communication with the main control module; and optionally sensors to measure health parameters in communication with the main control module. The main control module can store information and also can communicate information over a communications network.
Wireless medication compliance sensing device, system, and related methods
A system and related methods for wireless medication compliance sensing is provided. The system includes a housing having a plurality of medication compartments. A breakable substrate is positioned on at least one side of the housing, wherein the breakable substrate covers an opening to the plurality of medication compartments. A sensor array is positioned on the at least one side of the housing. The sensor array has a plurality of resistors, wherein one of the plurality of resistors is positioned across one of the openings of the plurality of medication compartments. A wireless tag is connectable to the sensor array, the wireless tag comprising a transmitter, an accelerometer, and a sensing circuit, wherein the sensing circuit is adapted to scan the sensor array upon activation of the accelerometer, and wherein the transmitter transmits a signal having scanned sensor array data externally from the wireless tag.
Smart medication container
Various embodiments relate to systems and methods for monitoring adherence to a medication regimen through the use of a smart medication container. The container can include an electronic display that presents relevant information, such as dosage and/or medication information, instructions, user information, messages, notifications, and device information (e.g., battery status, network connectivity status). A pair of conductive elements positioned on either side of the container's opening can be configured to continually measure capacitance in order to identify when contents (e.g., pills) leave the container. More than one pair of conductive elements may be used to improve accuracy and reduce the effects of noise. A processor is able to analyze the capacitance data and determine whether medication has been dispensed from the container and, if so, how much medication was dispensed. A computer system can then compare the results to a planned medication regimen to determine a state of compliance.
Adaptor for Coupling with a Medical Container
An adaptor for coupling with a vial having a collar closed by a septum, the septum having an outer surface directed towards the outside of the vial, the adaptor comprising: a gripping member for securing the adaptor to the vial, the gripping member being capable of being laterally mounted on the collar of the vial and a pierceable elastomeric piece having at least a part intended to be in contact with the outer surface of the septum when the adaptor is secured on the vial. Also, an assembly including such an adaptor and a vial.
DEVICE FOR REMINDING A USER TO DRINK FROM A CONTAINER
Disclosed is a device for reminding a user to drink from a container. The device may be attached to either the cap of the container or may be assembled inside the cap of the container. The device includes a housing, a battery, a printed circuit board, a battery holder, a button, an upper cover, a controller for storing a reference time, a reference timeout value and generating reminding signals, at least one output unit connected to the printed circuit board to produce output signals on receiving reminding signals from the controller, a tap button placed in the indent to meet the button on receiving tap from the user. Further, the controller stores the reference time on receiving the tap from the user and generates reminding signals for the user to drink from the container when the user fails to either tap the button again or remove the button from the spout in duration of the stored reference timeout value from the reference time.
Medicine bottle
The present invention discloses a medicine bottle having a bottle body comprising a control module, a storage module and an information prompting module; wherein the storage module is configured to store administration information about a medicine contained inside the bottle body; the control module is configured to send a control signal to the information prompting module in accordance with the administration information stored in the storage module, thereby enabling the information prompting module to remind a user to take the medicine. With the above medicine bottle provided in the embodiment of the present invention for containing medicine, it is possible to effectively remind the user of dosage of the medicine to be taken and time to take the medicine at administration time, which is helpful for a patient to control the administration on time in a proper dosage.
Locked pill bottle with timed dispense limits
The disclosed pill bottle allows for timed dispensing of medicine, as programmed by a physician, pharmacist, or caregiver. The device has a slot for pill entry in any one of the walls, the slot being sealable and lockable. In an unlocked and open condition, the slot is a portal from the outside of the bottle into an inner cavity, the cavity being adapted for pill storage and extending between the slot/opening for pill entry and an exit tube. The exit tube is sized for single-file passage of a plurality of pills. A button or blocking device (defined as a mechanical and/or physical object which prevents movement of a pill out of the device) is movable only at pre-programmed intervals of time, allowing the exit of a pill or dosage of pills.
