Ultrasound probe for fat and cellulite reduction
A method and system for providing ultrasound treatment to a tissue that contains a lower part of dermis and proximal protrusions of fat lobuli into the dermis. An embodiment delivers ultrasound energy to the region creating a thermal injury and coagulating the proximal protrusions of fat lobuli, thereby eliminating the fat protrusions into the dermis. An embodiment can also include ultrasound imaging configurations using the same or a separate probe before, after or during the treatment. In addition various therapeutic levels of ultrasound can be used to increase the speed at which fat metabolizes. Additionally the mechanical action of ultrasound physically breaks fat cell clusters and stretches the fibrous bonds. Mechanical action will also enhance lymphatic drainage, stimulating the evacuation of fat decay products.
METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR COMPLETE EXAMINATION OF TISSUE WITH HAND-HELD IMAGING DEVICES
A scan completeness auditing system for screening a volume of tissue comprising a manual image scanning device having an imaging probe, a position tracking system configured to track and record the position of the imaging probe during use, and a controller in communication with the recording system and the manual image scanning device, the controller configured to electronically receive and record the scanned images from the manual image scanning device, and to measure an image-to-image spacing and a scan-to-scan spacing between the scanned images within scan sequence and between scan sequences respectively. The scan completeness auditing system is further adapted to provide an alert to the operator if the image-to-image or scan-to-scan spacing exceeds an acceptable value.
Combined frequency and angle compounding for speckle reduction in ultrasound imaging
This disclosure relates to combined frequency and angle compounding for speckle reduction in ultrasound imaging. Such combined frequency and angle compounding can result in a multiplicative speckle reduction compared to using either frequency compounding or angle compounding alone. Compounding methods of this disclosure can make use of the full aperture of the ultrasound probe when acquiring individual images, hence there can be no compromise in resolution. In disclosed embodiments, ultrasound images can be obtained while an ultrasound probe is moving and the relative position and orientation of the ultrasound images can be determined from a measurement of the position and orientation of the ultrasound probe. Certain embodiments can correct for the movement and distortion of an object being imaged during the image acquisition.

Wearable ultrasound system and method
An ultrasound system including: a scanner module including a housing including a first fastener element, an ultrasound transducer, a rotational actuator, and an electronics module; and a positioner module including a second fastener element; operable between a first mode, wherein the first and second fastener elements cooperatively couple the scanner module to the positioner module, and a second mode, wherein the scanner module and positioner modules are separate. An ultrasound system including: a housing including a handle region and a membrane; an ultrasound transducer; a reservoir; a rotational actuator; and an electronics module.

Quantitative Acoustic Contrast Tomography for Studying Fungal Growth and Toxicity
Methods for ultrasonically imaging a heterogeneous 3D-cell population without physically probing are provided. The method can comprises: pulsing ultrasound waves having a wave frequency of about 10 MHz to about 2 GHz through a lens rod, wherein the lens rod focuses the ultrasound waves onto the cell population via a concave lens-head (e.g., comprising sapphire), and wherein the cell population is positioned on the reflective surface such that the ultrasound waves are reflected back to the lens-head; receiving the reflected waves through the lens head and the lens rod at a signal receiver; scanning the lens-head across multiple points in the x,y plane; and at each point in the x,y plane, moving the lens-head in a z-direction such that a signal is received at multiple intervals in the z-direction for each point in the x,y plane.
