VEHICLE PARKING ASSISTANCE BASED ON CUSTOMIZED EGRESS REQUIREMENTS
A parking assistance management system and method for assisting a parking of a vehicle based on a customized egress requirements is provided. The method includes the steps of identifying a user entering a vehicle, calculating a minimum egress space of the user, required for an egress of the user from the vehicle, detecting a parking space proximate at least one object, determining a viability of the parking space based on the minimum egress space, verifying that a distance between the vehicle and the at least one object is greater than the minimum egress space, when the vehicle is parked in the parking space, and broadcasting the minimum egress space to be received by other vehicles.
DRIVING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM WITH SHORT-DISTANCE RANGING
A driving assistance system for a vehicle has a longer-distance sensor device for determining longer-distance information between a vehicle and an obstacle, and a shorter-distance sensor device for determining shorter-distance information between the vehicle and the obstacle. A dual-mode light emitting diode (LED module) can selectively emit both visible light and infrared light, and is part of the vehicle's driving-lights system, such as a headlight and/or a reversing light. The LED module emits infrared light when operating as part of the shorter-distance sensor device and an infrared receiver detects the reflected infrared light for distance determination. The longer-distance sensor device uses ultrasonic waves to determine distance information, and when it indicates that the distance has fallen below a threshold distance (below which the longer-distance sensing device is not reliable), a controller activates the shorter-distance sensing device.

METHOD FOR AT LEAST SEMI-AUTONOMOUSLY MANOEUVRING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH POSITION CORRECTION, DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND MOTOR VEHICLE
The invention relates to a method for at least semi-autonomously manoeuvring a motor vehicle (1), in which a sensor (4) is used to determine a position value describing a current relative position between an object (8) in an area (7) surrounding the motor vehicle (1) and the motor vehicle (1), a driving trajectory (13) is determined, the motor vehicle (1) is manoeuvred along the determined driving trajectory (13), the position value is continuously updated during manoeuvring of the motor vehicle (1) on the basis of odometry, and contact between at least one wheel of the motor vehicle (1) and the object (8) is detected, wherein the position value is corrected if the contact between the at least one wheel and the object (8) is detected and the position value describes a relative position which differs from the contact between the at least one wheel and the object (8).
Parking assist system, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium storing program
A parking assist system includes an electronic control unit configured to: estimate first extending directions of obstacles respectively located on right and left sides of a target parking space in a state where a host vehicle moves across in front of the target parking space; calculate a planned moving path based on the estimated first extending directions; as the host vehicle is guided into the target parking space, estimate second extending directions of the obstacles respectively located on the right and left sides of the target parking space while updating the second extending directions; determine whether the estimated and updated second extending directions satisfy a predetermined condition; and when the updated second extending directions satisfy the predetermined condition, update the planned moving path by using the updated second extending directions instead of the first extending directions or the second extending directions before being updated.
Driver assistance system for detecting an object in the surroundings of a vehicle
A method in a driver assistance system of a vehicle for detecting an object in the surroundings of the vehicle. The method has the following steps: emission of at least one measuring pulse by a transmitter; reception of a reflection of the measuring pulse by at least one receiver; determination of a Doppler shift between the emitted measuring pulse and the received reflection in an analysis unit; and determination of a direction toward the object based on the determined Doppler shift.
Parking guidance apparatus and method of vehicle
There are provided a parking guidance apparatus and method. The parking guidance apparatus is configured to recognize parking spaces in which a vehicle is to be parked within a parking lot, to set any one of the recognized parking spaces to a target parking space, to calculate a one-step parking route and a multi-step parking route depending on a steering input of a driver, to display guidance markers corresponding to the one-step parking route and the multi-step parking route so as to be distinguished from each other, and to guidance parking on the basis of the guidance markers.
Active park assist object detection
A method of assessing an area for parking a vehicle includes ultrasonically scanning the area to obtain ultrasonic data, radar scanning the area to obtain radar data, and determining whether to park the vehicle in the area based on both the ultrasonic data and the radar data.
Parking space detector
Provided is a parking space detector designed so as not to erroneously detect an inter-vehicle distance as a parking space, the inter-vehicle distance being the distance between oncoming vehicles continuously passing by. The invention is provided with a parking space presence determination part for determining whether or not a parking space for a vehicle is present. The parking space presence determination part is designed so as to determine whether or not oncoming vehicles are stationary on the basis of the vehicle speed and the relative speed of the oncoming vehicles, therefore preventing the space (inter-vehicle distance) between two other oncoming vehicles being erroneously detected as a parking space, the oncoming vehicles being vehicles traveling toward the vehicle and continuously passing by.
