According to the invention, a self-sucking ability of the premature infant is trained, normal circulation of a mouth-pharyngeal-gastric-intestinal reflex of the premature infant is realized, and nutritional requirements of the premature infant are ensured in the case of taking differences of the premature infants into account, so that the premature infants have no difference with term infants in care, diet, neurological development and growth and development in the future.
Acoustic reflectometry device in catheters
A device and method for verifying the proper position of catheters in the body by means of acoustic reflectometry, the device including a sound source, one or more sound receivers, a tube with compliant walls and open distal end to be introduced through an entrance to a body cavity, the sound source and receiver(s) coupled to the proximal end of the tube, a processor for causing the sound source to generate an acoustic excitation signal, the processor processing the acoustic signals sensed by the sound receiver(s) and generating an approximation of the acoustic impulse response of the tube, and the processor analyzing the acoustic impulse response to determine the position of the tube in the body cavity.
COAPTATION ULTRASOUND DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
Disclosed is a system and method for the placement of elongate medical members within a patient's body using coaptive ultrasound that combines magnetic guidance with ultrasound visualization of the medical member in the patient's body. A coaptive ultrasound probe adaptor magnetically attracts an elongate medical member within the patient with sufficient force so as to allow the operator to manually guide the member to its intended location. The adaptor mates with an ultrasound probe to provide the medical operator ultrasound feedback of the position of the member, thus allowing internal placement without the need for more specialized medical equipment.
CATHETER DEVICE
A catheter device according to one aspect of the present invention includes: a tube to be inserted into a body; a light emitting unit, which is provided on a distal end side of the tube, and includes an infrared light emitting element configured to emit infrared light for verifying a position of the tube; a power supply line configured to supply electric power to the infrared light emitting element; and a conduction detection unit including a visible light emitting element configured to notify a conduction state between the power supply line and the infrared light emitting element by means of visible light. With the catheter device, operation of the light emitting unit can be visually checked before inserting the tube.
OCCLUSION DETECTION FOR FLOW CONTROL APPARATUS
A flow control apparatus adapted for a feeding set includes a housing capable of receiving at least a portion of the feeding set and a pumping device for acting on the feeding set to produce fluid flow in the feeding set for delivery of fluid. The pumping device has a rotor and a motor operatively connector to the rotor for rotating the rotor to act on the feeding set to produce fluid flow in the feeding set. The apparatus has a sensor arranged with respect to the pumping device to produce a signal indicative of a rotational position of the rotor, and a control circuit in communication with the sensor for receiving the sensor signal from the sensor indicative of the rotational position of the rotor and in communication with the pumping device to control operation thereof. The control circuit controls operation of the motor at a first output to rotate the rotor to produce fluid flow in the feeding set and at a second output effectively less than the first output, the control circuit monitoring the sensor signal during operation of the motor at the second output to determine occlusion in the feeding set.
Systems and methods for treatment of a patient by automated patient care
A computer-implemented method of treating a patient's and automated enteral feeding, comprising: monitoring a plurality of reflux-related parameters and at least one reflux event while the patient is automatically enterally fed by an enteral feeding controller according to a baseline feeding profile including a target nutritional goal, training a classifier component of a model for predicting likelihood of a future reflux event according to an input of scheduled and/or predicted plurality of reflux-related parameters, the classifier trained according to computed correlations between the plurality of reflux-related parameters and the at least one reflux event, feeding scheduled and/or predicted reflux-related parameters into the trained classifier component of the model for outputting risk of likelihood of a future reflux event, and computing, by the model, an adjustment to the baseline feeding profile for reducing likelihood of the future reflux event and for meeting the target nutritional goal.
Systems and methods for automatic management of reflux during enteral feeding
There is provided a system for managing reflux during an enteral feeding, comprising: (i) a non-transitory memory having stored thereon a code for execution by at least one hardware processor of a computing device, the code comprising: code for receiving electrical signals outputted by at least one reflux event sensor disposed within a digestive system of a patient; code for determining a gastric reflux event based on an analysis of the electrical signals; code for outputting instructions to pause enteral feeding of the patient by a feeding controller that regulates enteral feeding of the patient using an enteral feeding tube positioned within the digestive system of the patient; and (ii) an evacuation controller that directs back-flow of digestive contents from the digestive system of the patient to an external evacuation reservoir through an evacuation tube.
