An interference filter module comprises two optical fiber collimators arranged on an optical axis so as to be opposed to each other, interference filters, and a casing including a main body portion and filter holding portions to be mounted into the main body portion, which are configured to hold the interference filters. Two interference filters including a kth filter when counted from a front end and a k-th filter when counted from a rear end are determined as a k-th set. The two interference filters of the k-th set are accommodated in two filter holding portions, each of which is a k-th holding portion when counted from the front end and the rear end, respectively. The two filter holding portions have rotation axes in directions orthogonal to a fore-and-aft direction and are rotatably held by the casing. The rotation axes of the filter holding portions are orthogonal to each other.

Rectangular equidistant projection is applied to coordinates for path fragments of a plurality of fiber optic routes. A bounding box is generated for each path fragment. For each cell of a grid of cells where its bounding box overlaps with a bounding box created by the cell, each path fragment is placed into the cell of the global grid. For any cell with more than one path fragment, each path fragment inside the cell is compared to every other path fragment in that cell. For any path fragment with overlapping bounding boxes, the length of the overlap is saved. A table of cumulative overlap distances between path fragments is generated to identify overlapping segments and cumulative lengths of the overlap distances.

Ferrule holder assembly

A ferrule holder assembly can support groupings of a transceiver ferrules in an optical connector interface of an optical transceiver. A first holder body holds a first grouping of transceiver ferrules and has a holder-to-holder interface. A second, typically identical, holder body holds a second grouping of transceiver ferrules. The holder-to-holder interface of the first holder body engages the holder-to-holder interface of the second holder body to operatively align the first holder body with the second holder body to position the first grouping of transceiver ferrules and the second grouping of transceiver ferrules in the optical connector interface for making optical connections to one or more optical connectors plugged into the optical connector interface. The ferrule holder assembly can be used in combination with pre-terminated fiber arrays to couple an optical interface to a circuit board in a transceiver.

An optical fiber connector includes an adaptor having an insertion hole and first and second plugs holding, respectively, first and second optical fibers. The adaptor has first and second attracting surfaces having, respectively, one and the other insertion ports of the insertion hole. The first plug has a first attracted surface that receives, from the first attracting surface, an attractive force generated by a magnetic force when the first optical fiber is inserted into the one insertion port. One of the first attracting surface and the first attracted surface is constituted by a permanent magnet, and the other one thereof is constituted by a magnetic body. In a connection state between the first and second optical fibers, at least the outer peripheral edge of the first attracted surface does not continuously contact the outer peripheral edge of the first attracting surface.

OPTICAL CONNECTOR WITH WINDOW AND CORRESPONDING CURING METHODS THEREOF

The present disclosure relates to a connector assembly and a corresponding method to cure bonding agent or adhesive in the connector assembly with light source(s) and without the addition of heat. Disclosed herein are various embodiments of bonding agents for use in adhering optical fibers to ferrules within optical connectors, and the methods for use thereof. Various embodiments of the bonding agents disclosed herein may have other desirable properties for the process of securing an optical fiber within a ferrule, such as, but not limited to, shortened process cycle time. Embodiments herein address these needs by monitoring the change in refractive index of a photocurable bonding agent at the interface between the photocurable bonding agent and a substrate or optical fiber, which is referred to as “back reflectance.” In particular, the methods described herein utilize back reflectance techniques to cure the photocurable material or bonding agent.

The housing comprises a longitudinal passageway between a rear end and a front end, and, a part of the rear portion of the housing comprises a round cross-section and a part of the front portion of the housing comprises a non-round cross-section with a transition region disposed between the rear portion and the front portion.

OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR AND ADAPTER

Certain embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and devices for coupling optical fibers with laser surgical systems. In particular, certain aspects provide a push-pull connector and adapter for releasably coupling an optical fiber with a port of a laser surgical system. The connector and adapter facilitate mechanical lateral and rotational guidance of the optical fiber during insertion into the port to ensure proper alignment (e.g., clocking) of the optical fiber’s cores with a laser beam pattern propagated by the laser surgical system. Accordingly, the connector and adaptor enable improved coupling efficiency between the laser beam pattern and one or more cores of the optical fiber, and therefore improved power uniformity between multiple laser beams transmitted through the cores.
