A fiber optic connector assembly includes a connector housing defining a rotationally-discrete locking portion defined on an outer surface, an adapter assembly selectively coupled to the connector housing, the adapter assembly including an adapter housing defining an adapter front end and an adapter retention member that is positionable between an engaged position, in which the adapter retention member restricts movement of the connector housing with respect to the adapter assembly in an axial direction, and a disengaged position, in which the connector housing is movable with respect to the adapter assembly in the axial direction, and a locking housing positioned between the adapter housing and the connector housing, the locking housing defining a locking front end positionable at least partially within the adapter housing, and a locking retention feature that is engaged with the adapter retention member when the adapter retention member is in the engaged position.
FIBER OPTIC ADAPTER ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING A CONVERSION HOUSING AND A RELEASE HOUSING
A fiber optic connector assembly includes a connector housing defining locking portion defined, an adapter assembly selectively coupled to the connector housing, the adapter assembly including a conversion housing extending around the connector housing and defining a conversion retention member that is positionable between an engaged position, in which the conversion retention member restricts movement of the connector housing with respect to the adapter assembly in an axial direction, and a disengaged position, in which the connector housing is movable with respect to the adapter assembly in the axial direction, and a release housing positioned between the conversion housing and the connector housing, the release housing defining a release front end positionable at least partially within the conversion housing, and a release face selectively engageable with the conversion retention member and configured to move the conversion retention member from the engaged position to the disengaged position.
FIBER-OPTIC ADAPTER ASSEMBLY AND FIBER-OPTIC CONNECTION DEVICE
Provided are a fiber-optic adapter assembly and a fiber-optic connection device. The fiber-optic adapter assembly includes a plurality of unitary adapters that are stacked and an elastic clipping body. The elastic clipping body includes a U-shaped elastic clip. The U-shaped recess of the elastic clip clips no less than two unitary adapters that are stacked. The elastic clipping body includes a first elastic clipping body. The outer surface of the elastic clip of the first elastic clipping body is exposed out of the unitary adapters and provided with a mounting portion. The mounting portion is detachably connected to a fiber-optic box.
MULTIPORTS AND OTHER DEVICES HAVING CONNECTION PORTS WITH SECURING FEATURES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Devices such as multiports comprising connection ports with associated securing features and methods for making the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the device comprises a shell, at least one connection port, at least one securing feature passageway, and at least one securing feature. The at least one connection port is disposed on the multiport with the at least one connection port comprising an optical connector opening extending from an outer surface of the multiport to a cavity of the multiport and defining a connection port passageway. The at least one securing feature is associated with the connection port passageway, and the at least one securing feature is disposed within a portion of the at least one securing feature passageway.
FEMALE FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS HAVING A ROCKER LATCH ARM AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Female fiber optic connectors having a connection port opening for receiving a fiber optic plug and cable assemblies comprising the female fiber optic connector along with methods of making the same. The female fiber optic connectors comprise an actuator such as a rocker latch arm used for releasing or securing an external fiber optic plug that may be received in the connection port. A main barrel of the female fiber optic connector comprises a connection port suitable for receiving an external fiber optic plug connector. The female fiber optic connectors disclosed advantageously allow for an quick and easy connection with an external fiber optic plug connector for ruggedized or other desired applications. Methods for terminating the optical fibers of a cable to the female fiber optic connector for forming cable assemblies are also disclosed.
Fiber optic connector with boot-integrated release and related assemblies
Fiber optic connectors, including SC and MPO connectors that include a strain relief boot operably coupled with a release mechanism for releasing the connector from an adapter or other termination device or receptacle. The strain relief boot can be operably coupled to move axially together with the outer housing of the connector.
Optical connector
A connector is disclosed that includes a housing and first and second attachment areas located in the housing and spaced apart from each other along the mating direction of the connector. The second, but not the first, attachment area is designed to move relative to the housing. The connector further includes an optical waveguide that is permanently attached to, and under a first bending force between, the first and second attachment areas. The connector also includes a light coupling unit located in the housing for receiving light from the optical waveguide and transmitting the received light to a mating connector along a direction different than the mating direction of the connector. The mating of the connector to the mating connector causes the optical waveguide to be under a greater second bending force between the first and second attachment areas.
Fiber optic adaptor
A fiber optic adaptor includes a main shell body and an outer cover. The main shell body has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion defines a first opening and is formed with two engaging grooves. The outer cover is removably disposed on and covering the first end portion, and has a cover body portion, two locking clips, and an identifier portion. The two locking clips protrudes from the cover and respectively engage the engaging grooves. The identifier portion is disposed on the cover body portion. The locking clips are operable to be removed respectively from the engaging grooves. The cover body portion defines a port outer opening, and a port key portion.
