The mobile robot system positions a robot probe arm with an RFID probe for proximity detection to identify a cable and associated fiber optic connector based on a unique RF identifier of a tag on the fiber optic connector. The robot probe arm has a connector gripper to engage and unplug the associated fiber optic connector.

The first anti-EMI block and an upper bracket can be combined together to form an upper circuit board slot, and the second anti-EMI block and a lower bracket can be combined together to form a lower circuit board slot. The pluggable connector of the present invention has a good anti-electromagnetic interference capability by the first and second anti-EMI blocks.

In one embodiment, the optical connector comprises a housing and a ferrule. The housing comprises a longitudinal passageway between a rear end and a front end. The fiber optic connector may be converted from a first footprint to a second footprint by a conversion housing that fits about a portion of the housing. The optical connectors disclosed may be tunable for improving optical performance and may also include a spring for biasing the ferrule to a forward position as desired.
