TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AND METHODS
A cabinet having a framework for mounting telecommunications equipment includes a framework and telecommunications equipment mounted to the framework. The equipment may include splitter modules. Spools are mounted within the cabinet to manage overlength slack in fiber optic cables within the cabinet. A patch panel is mounted within the cabinet and define a plurality of cable termination locations for receiving at least some of the fiber optic cables. The patch panel is mounted on a pivotable frame between a storage position and an access position. The plurality of spools are positioned intermediate the telecommunications equipment and the patch panel. A splice area is mounted within the cabinet and is accessible when the pivotable frame is in the access position. The splice area receives fiber optic cables from the patch panel for splicing to additional cables.
Patch panels for use with fiber optic and copper cables and support rack for the same
A rack and patch panel arrangement includes a rack having at least two mounting rails. The rack has a height width and depth. A patch panel is supported on a frame connected to the mounting rails. The patch panel, when mounted on the frame extends horizontally into the depth of the rack.
Traceable fiber optic cable assembly with indication of polarity
Disclosed herein is a traceable fiber optic cable assembly with indication of polarity. In particular, the traceable fiber optic cable assembly includes a traceable fiber optic cable, a first duplex connector at a first end of the fiber optic cable, and a second duplex connector at a second end of the fiber optic cable. A first tracing end of the tracing optical fiber is in a preconfigured orientation in the first duplex connector offset from a central axis of the first duplex connector, and a second tracing end of the tracing optical fiber is in a preconfigured orientation in the second duplex connector offset from a central axis of the second duplex connector. The tracing optical fiber receives an optical tracing signal for propagation to the second tracing end of the first tracing optical fiber to indicate a first orientation of the first duplex connector corresponding to a first polarity state of the traceable fiber optic cable assembly.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS CABINET WITH CONNECTOR STORAGE
A housing including a plurality of openings for receiving fiber optic connectors and protecting the polished end face of the connectors from damage while the connectors are stored within a telecommunications connection cabinet. A module with a plurality of optical fiber cables connected to a first optical fiber cable and terminated by a fiber optic connector. Each of the connectors are inserted within openings in a connector holder for storage and protection until the cables need to be connected to a customer equipment cable.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FEEDING A CABLE INTO AN ENCLOSURE
A method for passing a plurality of optical fibers into an enclosure configured to enclose in an interior thereof a plurality of optical communication connections may include accessing the interior of the enclosure. The method may also include separating a module plate associated with a floor of the enclosure to provide an opening between an exterior of the enclosure and the interior of the enclosure. The method may also include feeding the plurality of optical fibers through the opening and into the interior of the enclosure. The method may further include associating the module plate with the enclosure, such that the module plate at least partially defines an aperture through which the plurality of optical fibers pass from the exterior of the enclosure to the interior of the enclosure.
HIGH RELIABILITY ROBOTIC CROSS-CONNECT SYSTEMS
An apparatus includes a plurality of connector track elements, each extending substantially perpendicularly from a coupling plane, wherein a particular connector track element of the plurality of connector track elements includes a distribution of at least two magnets adjacent unattached end thereof, a polarity of the magnets on the particular connector track element being selected to provide magnetic repulsion as to at least one adjacent connector track element.
MULTI-CASSETTE FIBER DISTRIBUTION FRAME
A multi-cassette fiber distribution frame for easily withdrawing a desired cassette from a stacked structure of a plurality of cassettes can include a frame whose front surface is open, a plurality of holders provided on the frame at intervals, a plurality of slots formed by the intervals and each including an inlet and an outlet facing the front surface of the frame, and pop-up parts provided on the plurality of holders and configured to be elastically restored toward the inlet and outlet.
Dense shuttered fiber optic connectors and assemblies suitable for establishing optical connections for optical backplanes in equipment racks
Dense shuttered fiber optic connectors and assemblies suitable for establishing optical connections for optical backplanes in equipment racks are disclosed. In one embodiment, a fiber optic connector assembly is provided. The fiber optic connector assembly comprises a fiber optic connector. The fiber optic connector assembly also comprises a slideable shutter disposed in the fiber optic connector. The slideable shutter has an opening(s) configured to be aligned with a plurality of lenses disposed in the fiber optic connector in an open position, and configured to block access to the plurality of lenses disposed in the fiber optic connector in a closed position. The fiber optic connector assembly also comprises an actuation member coupled to the slideable shutter configured to move the slideable shutter from the closed position to the open position.
OPTICAL FIBER CABLE AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
An optical fiber cable includes an optical fiber bundle including optical fibers and a protective member having a cylindrical shape and defining an internal space where the optical fiber bundle is accommodated. The optical fiber bundle being a single optical fiber bundle is accommodated in the internal space. The protective member includes a first cylindrical portion having a ring-shaped first cut and a second cylindrical portion having a second cut corresponding to the first cut, the second cylindrical portion being spaced from the first cylindrical portion. An end of a first optical fiber included in the optical fibers is pulled out to outside of the protective member from between the first cylindrical portion and the second cylindrical portion.
High reliability robotic cross-connect systems
An automated fiber optic patch-panel/cross-connect system comprised of a stacked arrangement of multiple replaceable modules, including a first multiplicity of fiber modules, each with a second multiplicity of reconfigurable internal fiber connectors; a common robot module shared among fiber modules, wherein any connector within a fiber module in the system can be moved to any other connector of any other fiber module in the system; a power management module that distributes electrical power to the fiber modules and the robot module; and a server module that generates commands that are placed on communication bus to activate robot and fiber modules. The modules are physically separated and spatially arranged to be serviced replaced without interrupting fiber connections previously established in the system.
