ZIRCONIA PRE-SINTERED BODY SUITABLE FOR DENTAL USE
The present invention provides a zirconia pre-sintered body having suitable shades, translucency, and strength. The present invention relates to a zirconia pre-sintered body comprising a layered structure of at least three layers containing zirconia and a stabilizer capable of preventing a phase transformation of zirconia, the layered structure including at least two layers that differ from one another in the content of the stabilizer relative to the total mole of the zirconia and the stabilizer, the layered structure including at least two layers having substantially the same stabilizer content relative to the total mole of the zirconia and the stabilizer, the zirconia pre-sintered body containing a coloring component in all of the layers having substantially the same stabilizer content, and the layers having substantially the same stabilizer content differing from one another in the composition of the coloring component.
METHODS FOR FABRICATING DENTAL RESTORATIONS
A method of fabricating a dental restoration is provided that includes the initial step of providing a powder of a dental material. An amount of a binder is then selectively deposited onto the powder of the dental material to produce an unfinished layer of the dental material. Multiple layers of the dental material are then produced by continually providing a powder of dental material and selectively depositing an amount of a binder until a three-dimensional unfinished model is produced. The unfinished model is then separated from an amount of unaffected powder, and is sintered to produce a three-dimensional dental restoration having a functionally-graded structure.
Bone cements containing magnetic calcium phosphate nanoparticles
A bone cement formulation comprising: (a) magnetic calcium phosphate nanoparticles present in an amount of 5.0-95 wt. % and having a largest linear dimension of 150 nm to 50 microns; (b) polymerizable acrylate monomer present in an amount of 5.0-95 wt. %; and (c) polyacrylate polymer present in an amount of 0-80 wt. % and having a largest linear dimension from 5.0 to 500 microns. Upon exposure to an alternating magnetic field the formulation is heated which results in polymerization of the acrylate monomer component. The formulation may also be polymerized via the use of chain polymerization initiators.
ZIRCONIA-BASED IMPLANT COMPOSITION
Proposed is a zirconia-based implant composition capable of preventing discoloration under gamma irradiation. The zirconia-based implant composition is characterized by including zirconium dioxide (Zro.sub.2), yttrium oxide (Y.sub.2O.sub.3) added to the above zirconium dioxide, an oxide of pentavalent ions added for reducing the concentration of oxygen vacancies caused by the above yttrium oxide (Y.sub.2O.sub.3), a colorant oxide added for reducing discoloration, and an oxide of tetravalent ions added for improving sinterability.
ZIRCONIA-BASED IMPLANT COMPOSITION
Proposed is a zirconia-based implant composition capable of preventing discoloration under gamma irradiation. The zirconia-based implant composition is characterized by including zirconium dioxide (Zro.sub.2), yttrium oxide (Y.sub.2O.sub.3) added to the above zirconium dioxide, an oxide of pentavalent ions added for reducing the concentration of oxygen vacancies caused by the above yttrium oxide (Y.sub.2O.sub.3), a colorant oxide added for reducing discoloration, and an oxide of tetravalent ions added for improving sinterability.
DENTAL MILL BLANK, PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME, AND USES THEREOF
A dental mill blank having an yttria-containing zirconia material. One embodiment provides a dental mill blank having an yttria-containing zirconia material, wherein the yttria-containing zirconia material has a fracture resistance of at least 6.0 MPa*m.sup.1/2, determined on a densely sintered test body of the yttria-containing zirconia material, and a biaxial flexural strength of at least 1200 MPa, determined on a densely sintered test body of the yttria-containing zirconia material. Furthermore, a process for preparing the dental mill blank, a process for preparing a dental restoration using the dental mill blank, and a dental restoration as such are provided.

A dental mill blank having an yttria-containing zirconia material. One embodiment provides a dental mill blank having an yttria-containing zirconia material, wherein the yttria-containing zirconia material has a fracture resistance of at least 6.0 MPa*m.sup.1/2, determined on a densely sintered test body of the yttria-containing zirconia material, and a biaxial flexural strength of at least 1200 MPa, determined on a densely sintered test body of the yttria-containing zirconia material. Furthermore, a process for preparing the dental mill blank, a process for preparing a dental restoration using the dental mill blank, and a dental restoration as such are provided.
