E-paper imaging via addressable electrode array
An e-paper imaging system includes a writing unit and a support surface to support a passive e-paper media in a position spaced apart from the writing unit. The writing unit includes a charge generator and an electrode array. The electrode array includes addressable holes to control charges flowing to the support surface.
SWITCHING FIBERS FOR TEXTILES
A color-changing fiber that can be incorporated into fabrics and other woven materials. The color changing fibers are hollow and include at least two wire electrodes that provide an electrical potential across an electro-optic medium including a non-polar solvent and at least one set of charged particles.

Electro-optic Displays
The invention provides an electrophoretic medium comprising at least two types of particles having substantially the same electrophoretic mobility but differing colors. The invention also provides article of manufacture comprising a layer of a solid electro-optic medium, a first adhesive layer on one surface of the electro-optic medium, a release sheet covering the first adhesive layer, and a second adhesive layer on an opposed second surface of the electro-optic medium.

Electronic paper with porous standoff layer
An electronic paper device includes a ground plane, a charge receiving layer, and a porous stand off layer disposed over the charge receiving layer. An active layer is interposed between the ground plane and the charge receiving layer, the active layer including a plurality of microcapsules containing charged pigments. A system for writing information to electronic paper is also provided.
Color display device
The present invention provides a color display device in which each pixel or sub-pixel can display four high quality color states, More specifically, an electrophoretic fluid is provided which comprises four types of particles, dispersed in a solvent or solvent mixture. The fluid may further comprise substantially uncharged neutral buoyancy particles.
Aligned Particle Layer
A charge-receiving layer for an e-paper assembly includes a plurality of conductive paths spaced apart throughout an insulative matrix, with each conductive path including at least one elongate pattern of conductive particles.
Aligned Particle Coating
A method of manufacturing a coating for an e-paper assembly includes forming a coating layer from conductive particles dispersed within an insulative matrix. A field is applied to cause the conductive particles to align in generally parallel, spaced apart elongate patterns that are generally perpendicular to a plane through which the coating layer extends. At ambient temperatures and without applied pressure, the coating layer is cured via radiation energy while maintaining the applied field.
