Image forming apparatus with mechanism for supplying the image forming apparatus with toner
An image forming apparatus includes a main body that includes a photosensitive member on which an electrostatic latent image is formed and a development unit configured to develop the photosensitive member with toner. The main body is configured to discharge a recording material on which an image is formed with the toner onto a discharge tray. The image forming apparatus also includes a toner supply port on which a supply container is mounted to supply toner to a toner containing portion of the development unit. The image forming apparatus further includes a non-contact communication portion including an antenna and configured to receive a signal for user authentication. The discharge tray, the toner supply port, and the non-contact communication portion are provided at an upper portion of the main body. The non-contact communication portion is provided outside the discharge tray when the main body is viewed from above.
Remanufactured Toner Cartridge and Method
A remanufactured toner cartridge and related method includes a modified driven gear that is associated with an internal seal removal mechanism. The driven gear is modified so that driving rotational force from a printer is not transmitted to the seal removal mechanism during a post test of the remanufactured cartridge. When the post test is complete a fixing member, which may include a pin, is used to return the modified driven gear to an operational configuration so that when the cartridge is subsequently installed in a printer, driving rotational force from the printer is transmitted to the removal mechanism to remove the internal toner seal, thereby permitting cartridge operation.
Image forming apparatus having a toner replenishment operation
An image forming apparatus includes a first display portion to display a ratio of an amount of toner accommodated in the developer container to a maximum amount of toner that the developer container is capable of accommodating, and a controller to, in a case where a replenishment operation, in which toner is supplied from the replenishment container to the replenishment port, is performed when a second display portion is in a second state, switch the second display portion from the second state to a first state and perform a display processing of displaying, on the first display portion, the ratio corresponding to an amount of toner accommodated in the developer container after the replenishment operation.
ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE IMAGE DEVELOPING TONER, ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE IMAGE DEVELOPER, AND TONER CARTRIDGE
An electrostatic charge image developing toner includes toner particles, silica particles having an average particle diameter of 80 nm to 200 nm, lubricant particles N which has negatively chargeable property, and lubricant particles P which has positively chargeable property, wherein a content (s) of the silica particles, a content (n) of the lubricant particles N, and a content (p) of the lubricant particles P satisfy relationships of Expression (1): 0.002≦p/s≦0.2; and Expression (2): 0.02≦n/s≦0.5.
CARTRIDGE, SUPPLY CONTAINER, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A cartridge is configured to be attachable to a main body of an image forming apparatus and configured to receive toner supplied from a supply container. The cartridge includes a supply port configured to receive the toner supplied from the supply container, a shutter member configured to cover the supply port, and a locking member. The locking member is moved from a lock position to an unlock position to allow movement of the shutter member by using electric power supplied from the main body.
TONER CASE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A toner case includes a case main body, a cover, and a seal member. The case main body is configured to contain a toner and to rotate. The cover is configured to cover an opening part arranged at the case main body and to maintain a rotation stop state when the case main body rotates. The seal member is interposed between the case main body and the cover and configured to maintain a rotation stop state when the case main body rotates. At least a part of the seal member is composed of an elastic material.
TONER CASE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A toner case includes a case main body, a transmission member, and a cover. The case main body contains a toner and rotates around a rotation axis line. The transmission member is attached to an outer circumferential face of the case main body and configured to transmit rotation driving force to the case main body. The cover is configured to cover an opening part arranged at the case main body. The case main body includes a rotation restricting part and a movement restricting part. The rotation restricting part is configured to restrict a rotation of the transmission member with respect to the case main body. The movement restricting part is configured to restrict a movement in a direction of the rotation axis line of the transmission member with respect to the case main body. The transmission member is positioned between the cover and the movement restricting part.
HANDLING ABNORMAL OPERATION DURING TONER REFILL
An operation method of an image forming apparatus including determining a state of a toner refill operation of injecting toner from a toner reload kit (TRK) to a cartridge in the image forming apparatus; when determined the injecting of the toner into the cartridge is completed, controlling the TRK to store information indicating a toner refill completion in a memory of the TRK; and updating information of an amount of remaining toner of the cartridge, based on an amount of the toner injected into the cartridge from the TRK.
DEVELOPING CARTRIDGE COMPRISING MECHANISM FOR INFORMATION DETECTION
A developing cartridge may include a housing including an outer surface, a small-diameter gear, a large-diameter gear, a first gear, and a moving member. The small-diameter gear may include a first engaging portion positioned on at least a portion of a peripheral surface of the small-diameter gear. The large-diameter gear may be positioned farther from the outer surface than the small-diameter gear from the outer surface. The large-diameter gear may be rotatable together with the small-diameter gear. The first gear may include a second engaging portion, a first end surface, a second end surface, and at least one protrusion. The moving member may include a contact portion configured to move the moving member from one position to another position in a state where the contact portion is in contact with the protrusion.
Powder container including a container portion to be engaged with a powder replenishing device
The powder container includes a container body containing a powder for image formation, the powder being to be supplied to a powder replenishing device; a conveyor configured to convey the powder from one end in a longitudinal direction to the other end at which a cylindrical container opening is formed, the conveyor being provided inside the container body; a gear configured to rotate the conveyor with an external driving force; a container cover configured to cover the gear, the container cover having a gear exposing hole for partially exposing a gear tooth; and a nozzle receiver configured to guide the conveying nozzle inside of the container body, the nozzle receiver being provided on the container opening. The container cover includes a container engaged portion provided outer than the tooth of the gear in a radial direction.
