POWDER CONTAINER
A powder container contains powder and is attached to an image forming apparatus including: a conveying nozzle to convey the powder; a powder receiving hole of the conveying nozzle to receive the powder from the powder container; an apparatus main-body gear to transmit a driving force to the powder container; and a container receiving section including the conveying nozzle and receiving the powder container. The powder container includes: an opening at one end of the powder container in a longitudinal direction; a nozzle receiver at the opening to receive the conveying nozzle; a conveyor to convey the powder; and a container gear to drive the conveyor by meshing with the apparatus main-body gear. The container gear is to mesh with the apparatus main-body gear at a position closer to the opening than the powder receiving hole in the longitudinal direction. The opening is to mate with the container receiving section.
Supply reservoirs with rotary valves
In some examples, an apparatus can include a supply reservoir including print substance, and a rotary valve having a central rotary axis, where the central rotary axis is perpendicular to a height of the supply reservoir, where the rotary valve is in a closed position such that the print substance is unable to be supplied from the supply reservoir.
Developer supply container and developer supplying system
With a mounting operation of a supply container, a supported portion 11b of a developer receiving portion 11 is supported by a receipt supporting portion 30c of a lifting portion 30. With further mounting operation, a shutter sliding portion 30b of the lifting portion 30 slides on a shutter inclined portion 4f of a shutter 4. The developer receiving portion 11 is displaced so as to bring a receiving opening into communication with a discharge opening by operating, using the shutter 4, the lifting portion 30 supporting the supported portion 11b of the developer receiving portion 11. By this, a load required for movement of the developer receiving portion 11 is reduced to achieve smooth mounting of the supply container.
Toner Supply Dduct Pivotable To Allow Rotation Of Development Cartridge
An example image forming apparatus includes a toner cartridge, a photoconductive cartridge including a photosensitive drum, a development cartridge including a toner inlet portion and rotatable between a first position at which a developing roller is close to the photosensitive drum and a second position at which the developing roller is apart from the photosensitive drum, with respect to a hinge axis that is parallel to an axial direction of the developing roller and between the developing roller and the toner inlet portion, a buffer unit including a toner discharge portion to receive toner from the toner cartridge and to supply the toner to the development cartridge, and a toner supply duct connecting the toner discharge portion to the toner inlet portion, the toner supply duct being rotatably connected to the toner discharge portion in a direction allowing rotation of the development cartridge between the first and the second position.
Powder transport device and powder using apparatus
A powder transport device includes a transport unit, a spiral first transport member, and a first driving unit. The transport unit has a transport path. The first transport member is rotatably disposed in the transport path and rotates forward to transport powder. The first driving unit drives the first transport member to rotate. The first driving unit rotates the first transport member in reverse when both (i) a non-operation time during which the first transport member is not rotated and (ii) detection information on a temperature satisfy a condition.
Image forming apparatus with developer amount prediction
An image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier configured to carry an image; a developing unit configured to develop the image carried by the image carrier with a developer; and a developer replenishing unit configured to supply the developer to the developing unit, the developer replenishing unit being configured to predict, in advance, an amount of developer consumed by the image carrier at a start or an end of image formation apart from developer consumed in the image formation, to replenish the predicted amount of the developer.
TONER STORAGE APPARATUS
A toner storage apparatus to which a toner cartridge is mountable by being moved in a moving direction includes a toner storage frame that has a reception port and a seal attachment surface, stores toner supplied from the cartridge via the reception port, and has a protrusion from the attachment surface, and a seal portion that is attached to the attachment surface, has a rubbing surface that rubs against the cartridge when the cartridge is moved in the moving direction, and has a communication hole with the reception port. At least part of the protrusion is inside the communication hole and upstream of the reception port in the moving direction. An end of the protrusion is closer to the attachment surface than the rubbing surface in a direction perpendicular to the attachment surface. The seal portion contacts an outer peripheral surface of the protrusion extending in the perpendicular direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a replenishment unit, an agitation member a drive source, a control unit, a memory unit, and a remaining amount detection unit. The control unit performs (1) a first operation to drive the drive source for a first time in a case where it is judged based on the output value of the remaining amount detection unit that the toner has increased, and (2) a second operation to drive the drive source for a second time that is shorter than the first time in a case where it is judged based on the output value of the remaining amount detection unit that the toner has not increased.
TONER CONVEYING DEVICE
A toner conveying device for conveying toner, comprising: a first conveying portion; and a second conveying portion conveying the toner conveyed from the first conveying portion. The first conveying portion further includes: a first screw which includes a first rotation shaft and a first blade portion, the first screw including an engaging portion and a first protruded portion on a first end portion; and a first conveying passage forming member having a first inner wall face which forms a first conveying passage. The second conveying portion includes: a second screw which includes a second rotation shaft and a second blade portion, the second screw including an engaged portion and a second protruded portion on a second end portion; and a second conveying passage forming member having a second inner wall face which forms a second conveying passage, and which is connected with the first conveying passage forming member.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes first and second conveying members arranged with an axial angle, for conveying toner in first and second containers, and a conveying driving portion. The conveying driving portion includes a motor, a first gear, a second gear, a third gear, a swing gear, an idle gear, and a fourth gear. The second gear is fixed coaxially with the rotary shaft of the second conveying member. The swing gear swings on the outer circumference of the first gear rotated by a motor and meshes selectively with one of the second and third gears. The idle gear meshes with the third and fourth gears. The fourth gear has an axial angle between its input and output shafts and is fixed coaxially with the rotary shaft of the first conveying member.
