POWDER COLLECTION DEVICE AND PROCESSING APPARATUS USING THE SAME
A powder collection device includes a transport pipe, a powder collection container supported turnably on a pivot center provided in an attachment part of an apparatus body and removably attached to a position to cover an attachment part of the apparatus body, a pipe-side opening/closing mechanism that opens a discharging port by moving an opening/closing lid in cooperation with an operating member of the powder collection container when the powder collection container is turned to the position to cover the attachment part, and a container-side opening/closing mechanism that opens a collection port by moving a container opening/closing lid in cooperation with an operating member of the transport pipe when the powder collection container is turned to the position to cover the attachment part. The discharging port is disposed on a side of a vertical line including the pivot center different from the apparatus body.
Image forming apparatus and cartridge used therein
An image forming apparatus includes a main assembly and a cartridge. The main assembly includes a mounting portion for mounting the cartridge and a door for causing the mounting portion to be in an open state and a closed state. The main assembly or the cartridge includes an expansion and contraction member for displacing at least a part of the cartridge. Opening and closing of the door is interrelated with expansion and contraction of the expansion and contraction member. In the closed state, the cartridge mounted in the mounting portion is in a first position, inside the main assembly, where an image is formable. In the open state, the cartridge mounted in the mounting portion is in a second position where at least a part thereof projects to an outside of the main assembly.
TONER CONVEYANCE DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A toner conveyance device includes a downward passage, a reciprocating member disposed in the downward passage, to move in a vertical direction in which the downward passage extends, a conveyance passage communicating with a lower end of the downward passage and extending in a direction crossing the vertical direction, a conveyor to rotate in the conveyance passage around an axis extending along the conveyance passage to transport the toner, and a flexible member projecting from a bottom of the reciprocating member toward the conveyance passage. The flexible member extends in the axial direction of the conveyor and moves together with the reciprocating member. When the reciprocating member is at a lowest position, a lower end of the flexible member opposes a portion of the conveyor downstream from an upper end thereof in a rotation direction thereof.
Method for error handling in the toner refill process
An image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes a print engine to perform a print job by using a toner filled in a toner cartridge, a communication apparatus to communicate with a memory chip attached to a toner refill apparatus refilling the toner in the toner cartridge, and a processor to, based on an error being found in a toner injection process for the toner cartridge by using the toner refill apparatus, store information related to the error in the toner cartridge.
TONER CARTRIDGE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A cartridge includes a casing including a toner storage chamber storing toner and a toner discharge chamber having an outlet, a conveyance member conveying the toner from the toner storage chamber to the toner discharge chamber, an action member attached to the conveyance member and repeating an action of shifting between an entering state of entering the outlet and a retraction state of retracting from the outlet, and a pump expanding and contracting to be shifted between a first state and a second state in which the internal space is smaller in volume than in the first state, the pump putting air into the toner discharge chamber by being shifted from the first state to the second state, thereby discharging the toner from the toner discharge chamber through the outlet, and the pump taking in air by being shifted from the second state to the first state.

A pump portion 21 which is variable in volume, a feeding path portion 24 including a connection opening connected to the pump portion 21 at one end and including a discharge opening 23 at the other end, and a toner accommodating portion 22 connected to an intermediate portion between the one end and the other end of the feeding path portion 24 and for accommodating the toner are provided, and a volume change amount of the pump portion 21 is larger than a total volume from the connection opening to the discharge opening 23 of the feeding path portion 24.
Powder container
A powder container contains powder and is attached to an image forming apparatus including: a conveying nozzle to convey the powder; a powder receiving hole of the conveying nozzle to receive the powder from the powder container; an apparatus main-body gear to transmit a driving force to the powder container; and a container receiving section including the conveying nozzle and receiving the powder container. The powder container includes: an opening at one end of the powder container in a longitudinal direction; a nozzle receiver at the opening to receive the conveying nozzle; a conveyor to convey the powder; and a container gear to drive the conveyor by meshing with the apparatus main-body gear. The container gear is to mesh with the apparatus main-body gear at a position closer to the opening than the powder receiving hole in the longitudinal direction. The opening is to mate with the container receiving section.
TONER CONVEYING APPARATUS
A toner conveying apparatus includes a frame body, a conveyance member, a light transmission portion, a light emission portion, a light reception portion, and a rubbing member. The frame body forms a conveyance passage surrounded by a wall portion and is provided with a reception inlet for receiving toner from outside. The conveyance member is provided in the conveyance passage and rotates around a first rotation axis to convey the toner. The light transmission portion that is provided in the wall portion and has translucency. The light emission portion emits light toward an inside of the conveyance passage through the light transmission portion. The light reception portion receives the light emitted from the light emission portion through the light transmission portion. The rubbing member rubs on the light transmission portion by being rotated around a second rotation axis extending in a direction crossing the first rotation axis.
Authentication mechanisms
In some examples, an apparatus can include a mating interface coupled to a dispense interface to interact with a print particle dispense nozzle, a locking mechanism coupled to the dispense interface to prevent the print particle dispense nozzle from depositing a print particle to the dispense interface, and an authentication mechanism coupled to the locking mechanism to: authenticate the print particle dispense nozzle, and unlock the locking mechanism when the print particle dispense nozzle is authenticated to allow the print particle dispense nozzle to deposit the print particle to the dispense interface.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus is configured to allow a replenishment container to be detachably attached thereto. The image forming apparatus includes a drum unit including a photosensitive drum, and a development unit. The development unit includes a development roller, a reception portion configured to receive the replenishment container. The development unit is movable relative to the drum unit. The image forming apparatus further includes a housing including an opening/closing member movable between a cover position, at which the opening/closing member covers the reception portion, and an exposing position, at which the reception portion is exposed, and a support member configured to be movable between a support position, at which the support member supports the development unit, and a retracted position, at which the support member is retracted from the support position, in conjunction with the movement of the opening/closing member.
