HEATING APPARATUS HAVING A CYLINDRICAL FILM AND A PRESSING ELEMENT TO FORM A NIP
A heating apparatus includes a cylindrical film and a pressing element that rotates with the cylindrical film and forms a nip with the cylindrical film. A medium is conveyed through the nip from an upstream side to a downstream side. The heating apparatus further includes a heater arranged inside the cylindrical film and on which a heating element is disposed. An upstream end of the heater is located downstream of an upstream end of the nip, and a downstream end of the heater is located downstream of a downstream end of the nip.
Device including rotator and belt, such as a fixing device for an image forming apparatus
A device includes a rotator having a rotation axis, a belt, a nip forming member surrounded by the belt and configured to, with the rotator, pinch the belt to form a nip, an urging member configured to urge one of the rotator and the nip forming member towards the other in a particular direction perpendicular to the rotation axis, an upstream guide and a downstream guide. The upstream guide includes an upstream guide surface configured to guide an inner peripheral surface of the belt. The nip forming member includes a facing surface which faces the rotator. An upstream edge of the facing surface in the moving direction is located at a position farther from the rotation axis, in the particular direction, than a downstream edge of the upstream guide surface.
Image forming apparatus including blower unit
An image forming apparatus for forming a toner image on a recording material includes a fixing unit and a blower unit to blow air around a roller. The fixing unit includes a tubular shape film, a heating member disposed in a space surrounded by the film, and the roller forming a nip portion with the heating member. The fixing unit heats and fixes the toner image onto the recording material at the nip portion. For printing that forms toner images on continuously conveyed recording materials where a roller surface temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature, fan stop and operation periods are set. During the fan stop period, the blower unit is stopped and an interval between preceding and subsequent recording materials is widened. During the fan operation period, the blower unit is in operation and the interval is narrower than the interval during the fan stop period.
Fixing apparatus and image forming apparatus
A first rotating member a heating recording medium, a second rotating member forming a nip portion with the first rotating member, a holding member disposed downstream of the nip portion in a conveying direction and holds a conveying member conveying the recording medium, and a guide member facing the conveying member, the fixing apparatus is not exposed to an outside when opening/closing member is in a closed state, the fixing apparatus is exposed to the outside when the opening/closing member is in an opened state. A distance between the holding member being in the closed state and at a first position and the guide member is a first distance. A distance between the holding member being in the opened state and at a second position and the guide member is a second distance, and the second distance is shorter than the first distance.
Image forming apparatus having a suction port and a blowing port arranged at different positions
Provided is an image forming apparatus, including; an imaging forming unit for forming a toner image on one surface of a recording material; a fixing unit that includes a heating unit and heats and fixes the toner image formed on the one surface; a discharging unit for discharging the recording material, on which the toner image is fixed, to a discharged paper tray; and a guide member that is disposed between the fixing unit and the discharging unit and forms a recording material conveying path for conveying the recording material from the fixing unit to the discharging unit. On the guide member, a blowing port to send air to the recording material conveying path and a suction port to suck air from the recording material conveying path are disposed on a same surface so as not to cross over the recording materials.
Transport device, fixing device, and image forming apparatus
A transport device includes a rotating body including a recessed portion on an outer surface, a rotatable heat unit that is in contact with the outer surface of the rotating body and forms an interposition region in which a recording medium is interposed between the heat unit and the rotating body, a transport unit that: (i) includes a hold member capable of holding a portion of the recording medium near a leading edge, (ii) transports the recording medium by moving the hold member in a rotational direction of the rotating body with the hold member contained in the recessed portion, and (iii) causes the hold member to pass through the interposition region, and a controller that controls rotation of the rotating body such that the recessed portion stops at a position upstream or downstream of the interposition region in the rotational direction when an anomaly is detected.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion configured to heat and press the sheet conveyed from the image forming portion while nipping and conveying the sheet by a first nip portion to fix toner image to the sheet, a folding portion configured to fold the sheet, and a bonding portion configured to heat and press the sheet folded by the folding portion while nipping and conveying the sheet by a second nip portion to bond the sheet by powder adhesive. A peak value of pressure that the second rotary member pair applies to the sheet in the second nip portion is greater than a peak value of pressure that the first rotary member pair applies to the sheet in the first nip portion.
FIXING DEVICE
A fixing device includes a heater, an endless belt, a holder, a temperature detector, and a partition sheet. The heater includes a substrate, and a resistance heating element provided on the substrate, and has a frontside surface and a backside surface opposite to the frontside surface. The endless belt is configured to rotate around the heater and has an inner peripheral surface in contact with the frontside surface of the heater. The holder holds the heater. The temperature detector is configured to detect a temperature of the heater and has a detection surface that detects a temperature. The partition sheet is located between the backside surface of the heater and the holder, and is in contact with the detection surface. A length of the partition sheet in a direction of conveyance of a recording material is longer than a length of the heater in the direction of conveyance.
FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS THEREWITH
A fixing device includes a first fixing member, a second fixing member, a charging portion, and a control portion. The first fixing member makes contact with a toner image on a sheet conveyed along a conveying passage. The second fixing member forms a nip. The charging portion generates an application current. The control portion can perform an application mode, in which the application current is generated, and a standby mode, in which no application current is generated. The control portion performs the application mode during a first period after initial start-up until the passage of a predetermined period and performs the standby mode during a second period after the passage of the first period until the passage of a predetermined period.
FIXING DEVICE
A fixing device to fix a toner image formed on a recording medium to the recording medium includes a rotating member, a guide member, a holding member, and a roller. The roller contacts with an outer surface of the rotating member and forms a fixing nip portion together with the guide member between the rotating member and the roller. The fixing device fixes the recording medium toner image to the recording medium while pinching and conveying the recording medium in the fixing nip portion. The guide member is pivotable relative to the holding member about a pivot point that is a shaft substantially perpendicular to a surface of the fixing nip portion. When the rotating member slides on the guide member, the guide member pivots due to a force received from the rotating member so that alignment of the guide member with respect to the holding member is corrected.
