IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
An image forming system includes: a conveyor that conveys a recording material along a conveyance path; a detector that is disposed on the conveyance path and detects a characteristic of the recording material; a fixer that fixes a toner image formed on the recording material; and a hardware processor that: causes the detector to detect the characteristic during a warm-up of the fixer with respect to an image forming job, and based on the characteristic, sets an image forming condition in the image forming job.
FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS THEREWITH
A fixing device includes a first fixing member, a second fixing member, a charging portion, and a control portion. The first fixing member makes contact with a toner image on a sheet conveyed along a conveying passage. The second fixing member forms a nip. The charging portion generates an application current. The control portion can perform an application mode, in which the application current is generated, and a standby mode, in which no application current is generated. The control portion performs the application mode during a first period after initial start-up until the passage of a predetermined period and performs the standby mode during a second period after the passage of the first period until the passage of a predetermined period.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a housing having an opening, a cover configured to open the opening in an open state and to close the opening in a close state, a photosensitive drum, a heater, a fan configured to force air out of the housing, and a controller. The cover in the open state is configured to allow a sheet with a toner image fixed thereon to be ejected through the opening. The heater is configured to heat a sheet to fix a toner image on the sheet, and is located between the cover in the close state and the photosensitive drum. During execution of a printing process, the controller is configured to cause the fan to rotate at a first speed if the cover is in the closed state, and to rotate at a second speed lower than the first speed if the cover is in the open state.
Fixing device and image forming apparatus
According to one embodiment, a fixing device, includes a fixing member having a first surface configured to be pressed against a recording medium and a heater on a second surface of the fixing member. A first heat conducting member contacts aback surface side of the heater, and a second heat conducting member is provided to be moveable between a first state, in which the second heat conducting member is in contact with the first heat conducting member and the second surface of the fixing member, and a second state, in which the second heat conducting member is contacting the first heat conducting member, but separated from the second surface of the fixing member.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF, AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a control method of an image forming apparatus, an image forming apparatus, and an electronic apparatus. The control method includes detecting whether the image forming apparatus currently satisfies a condition for performing idling; and when the condition for performing the idling is satisfied and before the image forming apparatus starts image formation, enabling the image forming apparatus to perform the idling until a preset time duration is reached for the idling. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the image forming apparatus is enabled to perform idling for a time duration before starting image formation to mix the moist toner with the non-moist toner, thereby reducing the background gray of printed images and avoiding reduced image quality problem when the moist toner is used to perform printing.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
In an image forming apparatus, upon receipt of a printing instruction, a controller starts rotation of a heating member, starts rotation of a photoconductor drum when a standby time has elapsed from a time of the start of the rotation of the heating member, starts conveyance of a sheet after the start of the rotation of the photoconductor drum, and forms a toner image on the sheet after the start of the conveyance of the sheet. The controller is configured to be operated in one of selectable modes including a multicolor mode in which a toner image is formed using both of toner of a first color and a second color and a monochrome mode in which a toner image is formed using toner of the second color only. The standby time adopted in the monochrome mode is longer than the standby time adopted in the multicolor mode.
Image forming device including pressure modifying mechanism modifying nip pressure of nip formed between first fixing member and second fixing member
In an image forming device, a first fixing member has a roller. A second fixing member has a belt to form a nip together with the first fixing member. A first motor drives the roller. A pressure modifying mechanism modifies a nip pressure at the nip to selected one of a first nip pressure and a second nip pressure smaller than the first nip pressure. A controller starts driving the first motor to drive the roller in a case where a print command is received in a state that the nip pressure is the second nip pressure. The controller modifies the nip pressure from the second nip pressure to the first nip pressure after the driving is performed and fixes the developer image on the sheet in a state that the nip pressure is the first nip pressure.
FIXING TONER IMAGE USING GLOSS APPLYING DEVICE
An image forming apparatus includes a transfer device to transfer an unfixed toner image to a print medium, a fixing device located along a conveyance path of the print medium, and a gloss applying device. The unfixed toner image includes clear toner that is associated with a gloss image to be formed. The gloss applying device receives the print medium including the unfixed toner image, to fix the unfixed toner image to the print medium by applying heat and pressure, and to cool the heated toner image to form the gloss image.
Layer transfer device
Disclosed is a layer transfer device which transfers a layer of a multilayer film onto a surface of a sheet. The layer transfer device includes a heating member including a first portion and a second portion, a first heater, a second heater, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the first heater with an input power set at a predetermined input power, control the second heater with an input power set at a first input power if both of the multilayer film and the sheet pass over a surface of the second portion, and control the second heater with an input power set at a second input power that is smaller than the first input power if at least one of the multilayer film and the sheet does not pass over the surface of the second portion.
Image forming apparatus that changes a throughput based on a value related to a number of sheets on which images have been formed
An image forming apparatus includes a control unit configured to, in executing a job to form images continuously on a plurality of sheets of a recording material, accumulate an addition amount per sheet to an index in accordance with a number of sheets of the recording material to which images are formed in the job. A value of the addition amount per sheet is determined in correspondence with an attribute of the recording material used in the job. The control unit is configured to, during execution of the job, change a throughput of the job so that images are formed at a first throughput if an accumulated value of the index still does not exceed a predetermined threshold value and images are formed at a second throughput slower than the first throughput if the accumulated value of the index has exceeded the threshold value.
