A photoconductor unit for an electrophotographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a housing and a photoconductive drum rotatably mounted on the housing. An engagement member is positioned to receive an actuation force from an actuator of the image forming device. Upon receiving the actuation force, the engagement member shifts the photoconductive drum in an axial direction relative to an axis of rotation of the photoconductive drum.

A photoconductor unit for an electrophotographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a housing and a photoconductive drum rotatably mounted on the housing. A cam is mounted on the housing and has a cam surface that is positioned to contact a corresponding locating surface. The cam surface has a variable height in an axial direction of the photoconductive drum such that as a position of the cam changes relative to the housing, the photoconductive drum shifts in the axial direction relative to the locating surface.
DEVELOPING UNIT, IMAGE FORMING UNIT, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A developing unit includes a body and a displacement member. The displacement member is to be held by the body in a first mode in a first mounting state, and is to be held by the body displaceably between the first mode and a second mode in a reversible fashion in a second mounting state. The first mounting state is a state in which a first toner cartridge is mounted on the developing unit. The second mounting state is a state in which a second toner cartridge is mounted on the developing unit.

In an image forming apparatus a toner cartridge includes a toner memory storing toner identification information. The toner cartridge is detachably attachable to a drum cartridge. The drum cartridge includes a drum memory storing drum identification information. The drum cartridge is detachably attached to the main-body casing. A controller performs a request process to request execution of a density correction process to correct a density of developer, in a case where a toner identification information determination process determines that the toner identification information stored in the toner memory does not match the toner identification information which is stored in the main-body memory in a toner identification information storing process or a drum identification information determination process determines that the drum identification information stored in the drum memory does not match the drum identification information which is stored in the main-body memory in the drum identification information storing process.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a photoconductor unit, and a developing cartridge. The apparatus body includes a controller and a body-side contact portion. The photoconductor unit includes a photoconductor, a charger, and a frame body. The developing cartridge includes a developing roller, a storage medium configured to store information, and a cartridge-side contact portion. The photoconductor unit includes a first contact portion configured to be electrically connected to the body-side contact portion, a second contact portion configured to be electrically connected to the cartridge-side contact portion, and a wiring portion electrically connecting the first contact portion and the second contact portion. The photoconductor unit further includes a separating member. The separating member is arranged to separate the charger and the part of the wiring portion when viewed in the rotational axis direction of the photoconductor.

A cartridge includes a photosensitive member, a charging member configured to charge the photosensitive member, a first unit including the photosensitive member and the charging member, a developing member configured to deposit toner onto the photosensitive member, and a second unit including the developing member. A holding portion is movably supported by the first unit or the second unit, with the holding portion being configured to restrict a relative position between the first unit and the second unit, the holding portion being movable between a first position for holding the second unit in a spaced position by the first unit and a second position for holding the second unit in a developing position by the first unit. An urging portion including a force receiving portion capable of receiving an external force, with the urging portion being capable of applying, to the second unit, an urging force for urging the second unit toward the developing position while receiving the external force at the force receiving portion.
Replaceable unit for an electrophotographic image forming device having positioning features for electrical contacts
A replaceable unit for an electrophotographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes an electrical contact positioned on a first side of a housing of the replaceable unit for contacting an electrical contact in the image forming device. A guide on the first side of the housing is positioned closer to a front of the housing than the electrical contact and leads rearward toward the electrical contact. The guide includes an inside surface that faces inward sideways toward a second side of the housing. At least a portion of the inside surface is angled inward sideways from front to rear permitting contact between the inside surface and an electrical connector in the image forming device to draw the electrical connector in the image forming device inward sideways relative to the replaceable unit during insertion of the replaceable unit into the image forming device.

An image formation unit according to an embodiment may include: an image carrier unit in which an image carrier is supported; a developer carrier unit in which a developer carrier is supported; a first bias member provided at one end side in a longitudinal direction of the image formation unit and configured to bias the developer carrier unit toward the image carrier unit; a second bias member provided at the other end side in the longitudinal direction of the image formation unit and configured to bias the developer carrier unit toward the image carrier unit. A first bias direction of biasing the developer carrier unit toward the image carrier unit by the first bias member and a second bias direction of biasing the developer carrier unit toward the image carrier unit by the second bias member are not parallel to each other.

A drum unit includes: a frame; a first photosensitive drum; a second photosensitive drum; a charger; and a storage medium. The frame includes: a first frame plate; a second frame plate spaced apart from the first frame plate in a first direction; a third frame plate connecting one end of the first frame plate to one end of the second frame plate; and a fourth frame plate connecting another end of the first frame plate to another end of the second frame plate. The first photosensitive drum and the second photosensitive drum are rotatably supported by the frame. The second photosensitive drum is spaced apart from the first photosensitive drum and positioned closer to the third frame plate than the first photosensitive drum to the third frame plate in a second direction. The storage medium has an electrical contact surface positioned at an outer surface of the third frame plate.
