PROCESS CARTRIDGE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A process cartridge comprises a photosensitive drum and a developing roller. A coupling member is provided adjacent to one axial end of the developing roller. The coupling member includes a driven portion, and an intermediary portion configured and positioned to engage with the driven portion. The intermediary portion is also configured to be movable relative to the driven portion in a direction crossing the axis of the developing roller while maintaining engagement with the driven portion. The coupling member further includes a driving portion configured and positioned to receive a driving force for rotating the developing roller. The driving portion is also configured to engage with the intermediary portion, and to be movable relative to the intermediary portion in a direction crossing the axis of the developing roller while maintaining engagement with the intermediary portion.
PROCESS CARTRIDGE
Disclosed is a process cartridge detachably mounted to an image forming device having a tray (13) and force applying components (60, 61). The process cartridge comprises: a process cartridge frame; a photosensitive unit (31); a developing unit (41) rotatable relative to the photosensitive unit (31), wherein the process cartridge frame has a driving side and a conductive side disposed oppositely along a length direction, and the driving side is provided with a first driving force receiving portion (10) for driving a photosensitive drum (30) to rotate and a second driving force receiving portion (11) for driving a developing roller (42) to rotate; and a force receiving portion (85) for receiving force of the force applying components (60, 61) so that the developing unit (41) rotates relative to the photosensitive unit (31), wherein the force receiving portion (85) has a separating force receiving portion (8504) for receiving the force of the force applying components (60, 61) so that the developing unit (41) rotates relative to the photosensitive unit (31), and in a process of the process cartridge being pushed into to an image forming device with the tray (13), the force receiving portion (85) can receive the force of the force applying components (60, 61) and move at least in a left-and-right direction and/or an up-and-down direction.
Rotational force transmitting part
A device for transmitting a rotational force to an electrophotographic photosensitive drum includes a flange connectable to the photosensitive drum and having a rotational axis, a hollow portion, and a force receiving surface, a pin configured to transmit the rotational force to the flange, and a coupling member the coupling member including a shaft shaped portion extended along a rotational axis of the coupling member and including a through-hole portion. When the pin and at least a part of the shaft shaped portion of the coupling member are accommodated in the hollow portion of the flange and the pin contacts the force receiving surface, the pin is capable of transmitting the rotational force received from the coupling member to the flange.

A process cartridge detachably mountable to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus including a main assembly side drive transmission member and a main assembly side urging member, the cartridge including a rotatable photosensitive drum; a rotatable developing roller for developing a latent image formed on the drum, the developing roller contactable to and spaceable from the drum; an urging force receiving portion for receiving an urging force from the urging member to space the roller from the drum; a cartridge side drive transmission portion capable of coupling with the main assembly side drive transmission member to receive a rotational force for rotating the roller; a releasing member capable of urging the main assembly side drive transmission member to decouple the cartridge side drive transmission member from the main assembly side drive transmission member by the urging force receiving portion receiving the urging force from the main assembly side urging member.
Drum unit, cartridge, electrophotographic image forming apparatus and coupling member
A drum unit includes a photosensitive drum in a coupling member. The coupling member includes an engageable member having a driving force receiving portion which is capable of entering a recess of a driving shaft to receive a driving force for rotating photosensitive drum. The coupling member includes a holding member configured to hold said engageable member so as to be slidable at least in a radial direction of said drum unit.
Drive transmission device and image forming apparatus
A drive transmission device includes a driving-side coupling, a driven-side coupling, and an intermediary transmission member provided therebetween. The driving-side coupling and the intermediary transmission member engage with each other so as to be movable in a first direction. The driven-side coupling and the intermediary transmission member engage with each other so as to be movable in a second direction crossing the first direction. The intermediary transmission member is held by a holding-side coupling which is one of the driving and the driven-side couplings or by a shaft member engaging with the holding-side coupling. Engagement of the intermediary transmission member with a non-holding-side coupling which is the other coupling permits a deviation angle about an axis extending in the first direction and a deviation angle about an axis extending in the second direction.
Gear assembly for a replaceable unit of an electrophotographic image forming device
A toner cartridge according to one example embodiment includes a developer roll and a toner adder roll. First and second drive gears are rotatably connected to and coaxial with the developer roll and toner adder roll, respectively. The toner cartridge includes a drive coupler exposed to receive rotational motion when the toner cartridge is installed in an image forming device. Gear teeth of the first drive gear are directly meshed with gear teeth of the drive coupler of the toner cartridge. The second drive gear is rotatably connected to the drive coupler through a pair of idler gears.
PARTIAL REVERSE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WITH AN ANNULAR SWING BODY
A partial reverse clutch assembly comprises a frame that mounts an input and output gears, a coupling member that couples the input and output gears, a swing body, and a lock gear. The coupling member engages with the swing body along a track of the coupling member. The swing body comprises radially inward tabs that slide along the track. The input gear drives the swing body, the coupling member, and the output gear in a first direction using a motorized rotational drive. The lock gear in engagement with the swing body prevents the swing body from rotating in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction. The swing body partially rotates in the second direction until the tabs of the swing body are raised along a ramp to section of the track that forces the coupling member to decouple from the output gear.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes image forming stations including respective electrophotographic photosensitive drums; an image transfer belt contactable to the drums; image transfer rollers, contactable to the transfer belt to urge the belt to the drums for transferring the toner images from the drums onto the belt, the rollers being provided with respective rotational shafts about an axis of which the rollers are rotatable; and a slidable member slidable in a direction in which the stations are arranged to retract the rollers away from the corresponding drums, the slidable member being provided with inclined surfaces contactable to the shafts, the inclined surfaces being disposed at such positions that the rollers are retracted from respective drums sequentially with the movement of the slidable member in the direction.
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, DEVELOPING APPARATUS, AND COUPLING MEMBER
A cartridge for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a developing roller, a rotatable member for transmitting a rotational force to the developing roller, a coupling member, and a frame. The coupling member is capable of moving between a first coupling member position in which the coupling axis is substantially coaxial with the rotational axis of the rotatable member and a second coupling member position in which the coupling axis is not coaxial with the rotational axis of the rotatable member. When the frame is in a first frame position, the coupling member is in the first coupling member position and a rotational force receiving portion of the coupling member engages with a rotational force applying portion of the apparatus, and, when the frame is in the second frame position, the coupling member is in the second coupling member position and the rotational force receiving portion engages with the rotational force applying portion.
