An image forming apparatus fixes a toner image onto a sheet by a fixer, and includes: a re-feeding path that normally conveys the sheet having passed through the fixer and guides the sheet toward the fixer; and a hardware processor that switches between first control to discharge the sheet having passed through the fixer toward a discharge destination and second control to re-feed the sheet having passed through the fixer to the fixer through the re-feeding path, depending on a type of an image which is a source of formation of the toner image.

An image forming apparatus includes a transfer portion to transfer a toner image to a sheet, a fixing portion to fix the toner image, a reverse conveyance portion to perform a reverse conveyance operation in which the sheet is conveyed to a first direction and thereafter conveyed to a second direction that is opposite to the first direction, and a reverse guide configured to guide the sheet in the reverse conveyance operation. A conveyance guide pair forms a conveyance path through which the sheet subjected to the reverse conveyance operation passes, and guides the sheet toward the transfer portion, and an air blowing portion blows air toward the conveyance path. In addition, a ventilation portion is provided through which air blowing from the air blowing portion toward the reverse guide passes, the air having passed through the ventilation portion flowing along the reverse guide.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a first conveyance portion configured to convey a sheet, a second conveyance portion configured to convey the sheet, the second conveyance portion including an abutment portion configured to form a loop on the sheet by being abutted against a leading edge of a sheet conveyed by the first conveyance portion, a curved guide portion, which is curved, configured to guide the sheet conveyed by the first conveyance portion to the second conveyance portion, and a rotary member arranged downstream of the first conveyance portion and upstream of the second conveyance portion in a sheet conveyance direction, and configured to be driven to rotate by a surface of the sheet that is guided by the curved guide portion, the surface sliding against the curved guide portion.

An image forming apparatus includes: a sheet conveyance unit which includes a sheet conveyance path and conveys a sheet; a sheet detector which detects the sheet in the sheet conveyance path; a job acquiring unit which acquires a print job related to the sheet; an image forming unit which forms an image on the sheet; and a processor which controls the sheet conveyance unit to perform one of first sheet conveyance and second sheet conveyance, the first sheet conveyance being performed to convey the sheet in accordance with sheet information, the second sheet conveyance being performed to convey the sheet and discharge the sheet to outside in accordance with a result of detection, wherein when sheet conveyance is resumed after suspension, the processor controls the sheet conveyance unit to perform the second sheet conveyance on a remaining sheet.

Disclosed is a post-processing apparatus configured to be coupled to an image forming apparatus or another post-processing apparatus. The post-processing apparatus includes: a post-processing unit that performs post-processing to a sheet that is conveyed; and a standby path arranged on an upstream side or a downstream side of the post-processing unit and capable of holding the sheet. The post-processing unit performs the post-processing in a state in which the sheet is partly in the standby path.

An image forming apparatus capable of making a match between the orientation of a reference side of a sheet along which punched holes are formed and the orientation of an output image on the sheet in double-sided printing. It is determined whether or not to rotate an image based on whether the image is printed in a single-sided printing mode or a double-sided printing mode. In the double-sided printing mode, a reverse-side image is printed on a first surface of the sheet, the sheet is conveyed into the printing section through a double-sided conveying path, a front-side image is printed on a second surface of the sheet, and the sheet is discharged. In the single-sided printing mode, an image for single-sided printing is printed on a first surface of the sheet, and the sheet is discharged.

An image forming apparatus includes a transfer portion configured to transfer a toner image to a sheet, a fixing portion configured to fix the toner image, a reverse conveyance portion configured to perform a reverse conveyance operation in which the sheet is conveyed to a first direction and thereafter conveyed to a second direction that is opposite to the first direction, a reverse guide configured to guide the sheet in reverse conveyance operation, a conveyance guide pair configured to form a conveyance path through which the sheet subjected to the reverse conveyance operation passes, and to guide the sheet toward the transfer portion, an air blowing portion configured to blow air toward the conveyance path, and a ventilation portion through which air blowing from the air blowing portion toward the reverse guide passes, the air having passed through the ventilation portion flowing along the reverse guide.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a switchback roller, and a re-conveying device. The re-conveying device includes a guide configured to change a conveying direction of a sheet conveyed by the switchback roller from a vertical direction to a horizontal direction and to guide the sheet in a width direction. The guide has a first guide surface and a second guide surface. The first guide surface and the second guide surface define a conveying path therebetween. The second guide surface is located closer to a center of a curvature of the conveying path than the first guide surface in a radial direction of the curvature. The first guide surface has a first area being planar and a second area downstream of the first area. The first area is configured to be contacted by a leading end of the sheet.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a first conveyance portion configured to convey a sheet, a second conveyance portion configured to convey the sheet, the second conveyance portion including an abutment portion configured to form a loop on the sheet by being abutted against a leading edge of a sheet conveyed by the first conveyance portion, a curved guide portion, which is curved, configured to guide the sheet conveyed by the first conveyance portion to the second conveyance portion, and a rotary member arranged downstream of the first conveyance portion and upstream of the second conveyance portion in a sheet conveyance direction, and configured to be driven to rotate by a surface of the sheet that is guided by the curved guide portion, the surface sliding against the curved guide portion.

An image forming apparatus is provided with: an image forming unit having a photosensitive member, a charger, and a developer carrier, the image forming unit being configured to transfer the developer image to a recording sheet to form an image on the recording sheet; a motor configured to drive the photosensitive member and the developer carrier; a controller configured to control the motor and the charger, and a re-conveyance mechanism configured to reverse the recording sheet discharged from the image forming unit and to convey the recording sheet back towards the image forming unit. The controller is configured to turn off the charger after the motor is turned off, during a time period after the recording sheet is discharged from the image forming unit until the recording sheet is re-conveyed to the image forming unit by the re-conveyance mechanism.
