The conveyance unit is provided with a separation unit which separates the first calibration member upward from the first scanner. When the first calibration member is separated, the separation unit releases connection between the conveyance unit and the housing.

An image formation apparatus comprising: a belt member suspended by a plurality of supporting rotating bodies and thus rotating; a cleaning member removing toner adhering to the belt member; a tray receiving waste toner removed from the belt member by the cleaning member; a vibration mechanism vibrating the tray to move the waste toner toward a lower side of the tray; a steering control mechanism to perform movement control to move the belt member in an axial direction of the supporting rotating bodies while the belt member rotates; and a vibration adjustment mechanism to change a manner of vibration of the vibration mechanism, based on the movement control by the steering control mechanism.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming section; an image reading sensor and a colorimeter; a temperature sensor; a memory that stores a first color value and a second color value in a first color chart that has a larger number of patches than a second color chart; a processor that creates a scanner profile for converting a first color value into a second color value using color values obtained by the image reading sensor and the colorimeter, corrects the scanner profile according to the color values obtained by the image reading sensor and the colorimeter, and converts the first color value into the second color value using the corrected scanner profile.

An intermediate transfer belt includes a base layer, an elastic layer, and a surface layer. The elastic layer is composed of an elastomer composition containing an elastomer and metal oxide particles. At least a portion of a surface of the metal oxide particles is positioned at a surface of the elastic layer. At least the portion is coupling-treated with a metal coupling agent. A radical polymerizable functional group of the metal coupling agent is bonded to a radical polymerizable compound composing the surface layer via radical polymerization.

An image formation apparatus includes: an image carrier; a developing device which develops an electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier as a toner image; a transfer device which transfers the toner image to a medium; a cleaning device which recovers toner remaining on the image carrier after the toner image is transferred; and a lubricant application adjustment mechanism which applies a lubricant on the image carrier and recovers toner present on the image carrier upstream of the cleaning device; and a controller which controls the lubricant application adjustment mechanism. The controller causes the lubricant application adjustment mechanism to recover more toner when the toner image formed on the image carrier has a larger image area ratio.

An image forming method forms a color toner image and a white toner image using an image forming apparatus having a plurality of developing machines. The color toner image is formed using a color developer containing a first carrier and at least one color toner selected from a yellow toner, a magenta toner, and a cyan toner. A transfer apparatus includes an image bearing member, a transfer member, a cleaning-bias output section, a first resistance-state detector, a second resistance-state detector, and a controller configured to control the cleaning-bias output section based on a first resistance state and a second resistance state, so as to change timing of ending outputting of a cleaning bias.

An image reading apparatus includes a scanner structured to reads an image formed on a medium which is conveyed; a calibration member located opposite to the scanner and structured to reflect irradiation light to be radiated to the medium when reading an image; a first roller arranged in a fixed position and structured to guide a conveying direction of the medium passing between the scanner and the calibration member; and a second roller arranged in a variable position in accordance with the stiffness of the medium and structured to guide the conveying direction of the medium passing between the scanner and the calibration member.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes: a second conveyance belt disposed on an upstream side of a first conveyance belt in a sheet conveyance direction; a second absorption section configured to absorb the sheet stored in the sheet storage section to suck the sheet on the second conveyance belt; and a control section configured to perform a stopping operation for stopping at least one of a conveyance operation of the second conveyance belt and an absorption operation of the second absorption section during a conveyance operation of the first conveyance belt.
