Interface structure for toner refill cartridge and toner refill portion
A toner refilling interface structure including a toner cartridge, an installation portion, a first toner inlet portion, an inlet shutter, and a locking member. The toner cartridge including a discharge shutter located in or coupled to a body and to switch to a closed position at which a first toner discharge portion of the body is closed and to switch to a discharge position at which the first toner discharge portion is open. The toner cartridge is rotatable about a first rotation axis. The first toner inlet portion is provided in the installation portion to receive toner from the toner cartridge. The inlet shutter is provided in the installation portion to switch to an inflow position at which the first toner inlet portion is open, from a blocked position at which the first toner inlet portion is blocked, by a first rotation of the toner cartridge from an installation position to a first angular position The locking member is provided in the toner cartridge and to lock the discharge shutter at the closed position during the first rotation of the toner cartridge.
Powder Container Including A Nozzle Receiving Opening and Scoop
A powder conveying device includes: a conveying nozzle, provided with a powder receiving opening; an open/close member to open/close the powder receiving opening; a flange provided to the open/close member; a biasing member to bias the open/close member; and a container setting section to which a part of a powder container is to be fit. The powder container includes: a conveyor to convey the powder from a second end of the powder container to a first end; a container opening protruding from the first end; a nozzle receiving opening into which the conveying nozzle is to be inserted; and a butting portion provided in the container opening, to butt against the flange. When the powder container is attached to the powder conveying device, the container opening is fitted to the container setting section, and the flange and the biasing member are housed in an inner space of the container opening.
POWDER CONTAINER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A powder conveying device includes: a conveying nozzle, provided with a powder receiving opening; an open/close member to open/close the powder receiving opening; a flange provided to the open/close member; a biasing member to bias the open/close member; and a container setting section to which a part of a powder container is to be fit. The powder container includes: a conveyor to convey the powder from a second end of the powder container to a first end; a container opening protruding from the first end; a nozzle receiving opening into which the conveying nozzle is to be inserted; and a butting portion provided in the container opening, to butt against the flange. For instance, the system may comprise a valve body having a first opening, a print substance valve disposed inside of the valve body including a second opening, and a liner coupled to the print substance valve including a third opening, where the liner is to clean print substance, when present, from the system responsive to the transition of the system into either of a closed position or an open position.
Toner container having protrusions projecting from opposite sides of the toner container
A system with a container including a protrusion, and a receiver to receive the container. The receiver includes a slide block that is movable relative to a body of the receiver, the slide block including two surfaces, a first surface, initially contacted by the protrusion of the container during insertion of the container into the receiver, having a first slope to resist movement of the container towards the receiver, and a second surface, subsequently contacted by the protrusion of the container during the insertion of the container into the receiver, having a second slope to interact with the protrusion of the container to assist movement of the container towards the receiver. This construction provides the user with a changing insertion force to indicate proper mounting of the container.

PLUNGER LOCKING STRUCTURE IN SYRINGE TYPE TONER REFILL CARTRIDGE
A toner cartridge includes a hollow body having an inner space in which toner is received and a toner discharge portion through which the toner is discharged, a plunger accommodated in the inner space to be movable in a longitudinal direction along the inner space and configured to push the toner through the toner discharge portion to outside of the body, a first hook provided on the body, and a second hook. The second hook has a shape complementary to a shape of the first hook, is provided on the plunger, and is elastically coupled to the first hook when the plunger reaches a bottom dead position.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a storage container in which toner is stored, a replenishment port configured to allow replenishment of toner from the replenishment container outside the image forming apparatus to the storage container therethrough, a replenishment restriction portion, a drive source configured to supply a driving force, and a drive transmission portion configured to take a first operation state, in which the drive transmission portion transmits the driving force of the drive source to the replenishment restriction portion to switch the replenishment restriction portion between a restricting state and an allowing state, and a second operation state, in which the drive transmission portion transmits the driving force of the drive source to a toner conveyance portion to cause the toner conveyance portion to convey toner.
Toner Cartridge Interface Mechanism and Methods for Same
A toner cartridge includes a cartridge body having a dispensing port. An interface mechanism is coupled with the cartridge body. The interface mechanism includes at least one detent movably coupled with the cartridge body. The at least one detent includes a retaining surface, a shuttle surface and a bias element coupled with the detent. At least one detent guide is coupled with the cartridge body, and the at least one detent guide includes a guide channel aligned with the retaining surface. The cartridge body is configured for installation in an image forming apparatus between intermediate and fully installed configurations. In the intermediate installed configuration a feature of the image forming apparatus is within the guide channel and the shuttle surface depresses the detent. In the fully installed configuration the bias element deploys the retaining surface into intercepting alignment with the feature.
