COSMETIC COMPOSITION COMPRISING MICA AND LAUROYL LYSINE
A cosmetic composition containing mica, lauroyl lysine, and water. The cosmetic composition meets at least one of the following conditions (i)-(iii): (i) wherein the weight ratio between the mica and lauroyl lysine is from about 2:1 to about 1:10; (ii) wherein the mica has a mean particle size of from about 5 microns to about 20 microns, and the lauroyl lysine has a mean particle size of from about 10 microns to about 40 microns, and the mean particle size ratio between the mica and lauroyl lysine is from about 1:1 to about 1:5; and (iii) wherein the lauroyl lysine has a flat polygonal shape. The cosmetic composition of the present invention can provide benefits from mica with reduced friction/reduced draggy feeling.
Zirconium-Based Cluster as an Antiperspirant and Deodorant Active
Described herein are zirconium oxychloride clusters comprising zirconium oxychloride and a basic amino acid. Personal care compositions comprising the same, and methods of making and using the same are also described.
Active agent-containing matrix particles and processes for making same
Matrix particles containing one or more matrix materials and one or more hydrophobic active agents, agglomerated particles made therefrom, fibrous structures containing such matrix particles and/or agglomerated particles, and processes for making same are provided.
PERSONAL CARE COMPOSITION
Disclosed are personal care compositions comprising a fibrous material of natural origin and obtained from plants. The fibrous material comprises micro-scaled and/or nano-scaled fibril agglomerates. Such compositions show pleasant skin feel and comfort during and after application, as well as fast drying and fast absorption into skin. The compositions obtained are also particularly well suited for the topical delivery of cosmetic and pharmaceutical active substances into skin. Additionally, a method to obtain said personal care composition is disclosed.
COMPOSITION COMPRISING PHOTONIC PARTICLES, A UV-SCREENING AGENT AND AN ACRYLIC POLYMER
The present invention relates to a composition, especially a photoprotective cosmetic composition, comprising at least: photonic particles having a mean size of from 0.5 m to 100 m, each including an ordered periodic arrangement of monodisperse nanoparticles or of empty spaces, leading to attenuation of the radiation in the wavelength range extending from 250 nm to 1800 nm, preferably from 250 nm to 400 nm, b) at least one UV-screening agent, and at least one particular acrylic polymer.
MICROPARTICLE COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF
The invention provides a personal care product or a home care product having self-assembled microparticles having an acid having two or more acid groups and an organic base in a solvent. The microparticles may form into a macrostructure and provide a support for carrying components of a personal care or home care composition. The particle is of micron scale. The microparticle may be obtained by contacting a bis-acid and organic base in a hydrophilic solvent, wherein the acid is insoluble or sparingly soluble in the hydrophilic solvent and the organic base is soluble in a hydrophilic solvent.
HIGHLY SCATTERING POROUS MATERIAL BASED ON FIBRILLAR, ELONGATED, OR DISK-LIKE PARTICLES
The present invention concerns a material, based on fibrillar, elongated, or disk-like colloidal particles, that has a high scattering efficiency, a method that is suitable for preparing such a material, and the use of such a material. The material can be used as, or as a part of, a pigment, paint or protective coating in various industries, but due to its high scattering, and due to the fact that the material appears white even as a thin membrane, it is an interesting option also in the paper and pulp, cosmetic and medical industries.
SUNSCREEN COMPOSITION
A sunscreen composition includes from 20 to 25% zinc oxide, and from 24 to 31% water. The sunscreen composition is in the form of an emulsion containing an aqueous phase and an oil phase, and is free from organic UV filters or organic UV absorbers. In particular, the sunscreen composition is free from silicone materials and titanium dioxide. The sunscreen has an SPF rating of 50 more,
NANOPARTICLES AS DELIVERY VEHICLES OF ACTIVE INGREDIENTS AND METHODS FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
A nanoparticle comprising a keratin polypeptide and at least one lipophilic active ingredient, wherein the at least one lipophilic active ingredient is non-covalently bound to the keratin polypeptide and can be e.g. a therapeutic or diagnostic agent, a nutraceutical, a cosmetic ingredients, a dye or a cosmeceutical, the keratin polypeptide being water-soluble; optionally, the nanoparticle further comprises at least one hydrophilic active ingredient non-covalently bound to the keratin polypeptide, which can be e.g. a therapeutic or diagnostic agent, a nutraceutical, a cosmetic ingredients, a dye or a cosmeceutical.
Controlling zinc oxide particle size for sunscreen applications
Zinc oxide compositions and methods for controlling zinc oxide particle size for sunscreen applications are provided herein. A method includes manipulating the size of multiple zinc oxide particles to be below a maximum threshold; selecting one or more media to be used in a sunscreen composition, wherein said selecting is based on the refractive index of each of the media; and integrating the manipulated zinc oxide particles into the selected media to create the sunscreen composition. A composition includes multiple zinc oxide particles, wherein each of the zinc oxide particles is (i) coated with an optical coating material and (ii) of a size that is below a maximum threshold; and a medium layer within which the zinc oxide particles are suspended, wherein the medium layer comprises a mixture of one or more media, and wherein each of the media has a refractive index below a predetermined threshold.
