Microparticles of cellulose nanocrystals with pigment nanoparticles bound thereto and method of production thereof

Microparticles comprising carboxylated, sulfated, or phosphated cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and pigment nanoparticles are provided. In these particles, the cellulose nanocrystals and the pigment nanoparticles are agglomerated together thereby forming said microparticle, and wherein the pigment nanoparticles are bound to the surface of the cellulose nanocrystals. Cosmetic preparations comprising these microparticles are also provided. Finally, a method for producing the microparticles is provided. The method comprises the steps of a) producing an aqueous suspension of carboxylated, sulfated, or phosphated CNCs with pigment nanoparticles bound thereto; and b) drying said aqueous suspension to produce the microparticles.

FAST DISINTEGRATING GRANULAR HAIR CLEANSING COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to a fast disintegrating granular hair cleansing composition in which a wet granulation process, which is a pharmaceutical preparation method, is introduced into a method for preparing a cleanser. The fast disintegrating granular hair cleansing composition is prepared by a wet granulation process so as to be readily disintegrated into granules by using small force, because of a low hardness thereof, and can easily form creamy foam since a large surface area comes into contact with water. In addition, portability, convenience of use and sanitation can be improved when molding is carried out in a single-dose in which the entire amount is used at one time.

Sunscreen additives for enhancing vitamin D production

Sunscreen additives for enhancing vitamin D production are provided herein. A method includes selecting phosphor materials to incorporate into zinc oxide particles, wherein the phosphor materials are capable of carrying out an up-conversion process whereby two or more photons absorbed by the zinc oxide particles and/or the phosphor materials within a first wavelength range are emitted as at least one photon within a second wavelength range. The method also includes incorporating the selected phosphor materials into the zinc oxide particles. A composition includes zinc oxide particles suspended within a medium of a sunscreen composition, and phosphor materials incorporated into the zinc oxide particles, wherein the phosphor materials are capable of carrying out an up-conversion process whereby two or more photons absorbed by the zinc oxide particles and/or the phosphor materials within a first wavelength range are emitted as at least one photon within a second wavelength range.
