POROUS CELLULOSE MICROPARTICLES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Porous cellulose microparticles and their use in, inter alias, cosmetic and pharmaceutic preparations are provided. These microparticles comprise cellulose I nanocrystals aggregated together, thus forming the microparticles, and arranged around cavities in the microparticles, thus defining pores in the microparticles. A method of for producing these microparticles is also provided. It involves mixing a suspension of cellulose I nanocrystals with an emulsion of a porogen to produce a mixture comprising a continuous liquid phase in which droplets of the porogen are dispersed and in which the nanocrystals of cellulose I are suspended; spray-drying the mixture to produce microparticles; and if the porogen has not sufficiently evaporated during spray-drying to form pores in the microparticles, evaporating the porogen or leaching the porogen out of the microparticles to form pores in the microparticles.
PIGMENTS CONTAINING CELLULOSE
An object is to reduce the occurrence of aggregation of an inorganic pigment that roughens the texture and dulls the color of a cosmetic containing the inorganic pigment. Porous pigment particles are provided which include cellulose or a cellulose derivative, and an inorganic pigment as main components. Also provided are a method for producing such particles, and a cosmetic containing such porous pigment particles. The particles are resistant to aggregation and are excellently dispersed in a base material to impart a color while improving the dullness problem. The particles of the present invention are porous particles that contain cellulose and have a wrinkle-like or fold-like uneven structure on the surface thereof (that is, have an appropriate amount of pores or voids). Thus, the particles of the present invention have soft and comfortable texture and are suitably added to cosmetics that are directly applied to the skin.
WATER BASED COMPOSITION
To provide a water based composition having an appropriate level of viscosity, which does not impart a sensation of stickiness, corrects unevenness such as pores, and has long lasting cosmetic effects. A water based composition includes an (A) crosslinked siloxane elastomer, a (B) lipophilic porous powder, and a (C) aqueous medium.
Skin penetration enhancing composition and use thereof in preparation of skin delivery formulation
The present disclosure discloses a skin penetration enhancing composition and a use thereof in preparation of a skin delivery formulation. The skin penetration enhancing composition comprises sponge spicules and nanoparticles. The nanoparticles comprise at least one of one or more drugs or one or more cosmetic active ingredients.
COMPOSITE PARTICLES AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME, PERSONAL CARE PRODUCT, PERSONAL CARE PARTICLES AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME, PERSONAL CARE ARTICLE, AND PERSONAL CARE COMPOSITION
A composite particle includes a core particle having a pore and fine fibers inseparably bonded to a surface of the core particle. The fine fibers are at least either cellulose nanofibers or chitin nanofibers.
Cosmetic composition comprising composite sunscreen particles
The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising, at least: (i) at least one composite pigment comprising at least one small particle with a mean particle size of more than 100 nm and less than 1 μm, preferably less than 600 nm, and more preferably less than 400 nm, wherein the surface of the small particle is at least in part covered with at least one coating layer comprising at least one inorganic or organic particulate solid UV filter; (ii) at least one organopolysiloxane elastomer; and (iii) at least one oil absorbing agent with oil absorption capability of 1 ml/1 g or more in an amount of more than 1% by weight relative to the total weight of composition.
SURFACE-REACTED CALCIUM CARBONATE WITH FUNCTIONAL CATIONS
A method of preserving, controlling an odor, and/or enhancing and/or mediating antimicrobial activity of a substrate is described, the method comprising administering a surface-reacted calcium carbonate. The surface-reacted calcium carbonate is obtained by a process comprising treating a calcium carbonate-comprising material with at least one H.sub.3O.sup.+ ion donor, carbon dioxide, and at least one water-soluble metal cation source in an aqueous medium to form an aqueous suspension of surface-reacted calcium carbonate.
SURFACE-REACTED CALCIUM CARBONATE WITH FUNCTIONAL CATIONS
A method of providing micronutrient delivery and/or plant protection is described, the method comprising administering a surface-reacted calcium carbonate as a metal cation releaser to deliver the micronutrient and/or provide plant protection.
Oral Care Composition Comprising Cuttlefish Bone Powder and Uses Thereof
The present document describes an oral care composition comprising a cuttlefish bone powder, comprising particles having more than 95% (w/w) calcium carbonate content, and a particle size of from about 60 microns to about 75 microns, and a suitable carrier, and uses of said composition for oral hygiene.
COSMETIC COMPOSITION BASED ON JANUS PARTICLES
A cosmetic composition comprising Janus particles, an aqueous phase and an organic phase uses Janus particles produced with a method which includes the preparation of hollow particles (1) having two non-continuous surfaces of a material with surface energy a, of which the external one (2) is accessible and the internal one (3) is inaccessible. The surface energy of the external surface (2) is thereby modified originating particles (11) with internal surface energy a and external surface energy 13. The modified particles (11) are then ground until particles are obtained constituted by small fragments (21) shaped as spherical caps with external surface (12) having modified energy and internal surface (13) having non-modified internal energy.
