A user interface device for controlling a robot manipulator having an end effector comprising at least one movable element, the user interface device comprising: a body for being held by a user, the body comprising an elongate grip portion configured to be gripped by one or more of a user's second to fourth fingers; a trigger extending transversely to the direction of elongation of the grip portion, the trigger being supported by the body so as to be capable of rotating relative to the body about a rotation axis passing through the grip portion; and a drive mechanism at least partially housed in the grip portion, the drive mechanism being coupled to the trigger for applying a torque to the trigger.

Dynamically balanced multi-degrees-of-freedom hand controller

A controller including a first control member, a second control member that extends from a portion of the first control member, and a third control member that moves in conjunction with, and in opposition to, a degree of freedom of the second control member. The third control member is configured to be operated by one or more of the non-index fingers of the user's hand. A controller processor is operable to produce a rotational movement output signal in response to movement of the first control member, and a translational movement output signal in response to movement of the second control member relative to the first control member. In exemplary embodiments, the first control member may be gripped and moved using a single hand, and the second control member may be moved using the thumb of the single hand. The third control member is configured to be operated by one or more of the non-index fingers of the user's hand, thus permitting intuitive, single-handed control of multiple degrees of freedom, to and including, all six degrees of rotational and translational freedom without any inadvertent cross-coupling inputs.

OPERATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

An operating device includes a movable part capable of moving between a first position and a second position, with the movable part being capable of operation by the finger of the user gripping the operating device. The operating device includes a regulating part that regulates a range in which the movable part can move, and a control part that determines the amount of regulation in which the movable part can move and provides the regulating part with an instruction to regulate the range in which the movable part can move according to the amount of regulation which has been determined.

An operation lever of a work vehicle has the operation surface including: a connection portion; a front operation surface extending obliquely so that a height from a reference plane increases from the connection portion toward the forward side of the connection portion in a cross-sectional view including a front-rear directions and a front-side edge of the operation surface being defined as a front-side top portion; and a rear operation surface connected to the front operation surface, extending obliquely so that a height from the reference plane increases from the connection portion toward the backward side of the connection portion and a rear-side edge of the operation surface being defined as a rear-side top portion. A length in front-rear directions along the reference plane in the front operation surface is larger than a length in the front-rear directions along the reference plane in the rear operation surface.

Operation device and method for controlling the same

Methods and apparatus provide for controlling an operating device, where the operating device includes: (i) a grip part to be gripped by a user; and (ii) an operation part for activation by a finger of the user gripping the grip part, and where the operation part includes: (i) a movable part capable of moving from a resting position toward another position in response to a force applied by the finger of the user, (ii) a biasing element operating to urge the movable part toward the resting position, and (iii) a motorized assembly operating to receive a drive signal and apply a force to the movable part in an opposite direction of the force applied by the finger of the user.

Quick disconnect joystick system and method

Systems and methods of adapting a work machine to operate a plurality of interchangeable work tools. Systems according to the disclosure employ interchangeable joystick controllers, each having different configurations optimized to the operator and/or the particular operating parameters and/or requirements of the selected work tool. Each of the joysticks has a standardized mechanical and/or electrical connection for attachment to the work machine via a standardized base. The base receives control communications from the selected/paired joystick and is configured to adapt the control communications to a standardized signal format such that the work machine operates the work tool according to inputs from the selected joystick.
