Asymmetric information handling system user interface management

A portable information handling system selectively attaches and detaches housing portions that each include a display for presenting information as visual images. The housing portions align in an attached state to present visual images at each display aligned with each other. Upon detachment, housing portion alignment is compared with each other to present each user interface aligned in a coordinated fashion at the displays by compensating for misalignment of the housing portions.

A portable laptop computing device includes an internal casing that stores secondary displays which extend outward from the device's primary display to thereby increase the amount of displays a user can view while operating the device. The secondary displays are positioned inside a casing of the primary display which is large enough to house at least two displays. The two displays are connected to a hinge which is configured to provide inward and outward movement and rotational movement of the secondary display about 360°. The system can also be implemented with an expansive ecosystem of interoperable components, including an add-on component from which secondary displays can extend, vertical screen adapters which can replace the customary horizontal configuration, a stand to which the add-on component can connect, and a horizontal screen adapter that connects with the stand to provide a convenient three-display set-up when used with the add-on component.

Display device, electronic device, and system

A display region of an electronic device is enlarged. Alternatively, a display region of an electronic device is protected. Alternatively, a display device for extending a display region is provided. A system includes an electronic device including a first display portion positioned on a first surface including an upper surface of a housing and a second display portion positioned on a second surface including a first side surface of the housing, and a display device including a third display portion positioned on a third surface of a support portion and a connection portion having a function of connecting with the housing and a function of reversibly changing the relative positions of the support portion and the housing between a first configuration and a second configuration. The first configuration is a configuration in which the support portion covers the first display portion such that the second display portion is visible. The second configuration is a configuration in which the support portion and the housing are opened such that the first display portion, the second display portion, and the third display portion are visible.

SLIDING INPUT DEVICE COVER

A computing system includes an electronic device, a cover or case for the electronic device, and an input device that is slidably movable yet attached to the cover or case. By positioning the electronic device on top of the input device, rotation of the electronic device which changes its vertical viewing angle also translates the input device. These can provide improved overall possible viewing angle adjustability, increased system stability at high viewing angles, laptop-like opening and closing behavior, lighter weight, and implementation using low-cost components.
