ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING INPUT MODE ACCORDING TO FOLDING ANGLE, AND METHOD THEREFOR

At least one processor included in an electronic device can acquire first motion data about the motion of the electronic device through at least one motion sensor, acquire second motion data about a motion of an external device through a connector included in the electronic device, determine, on the basis of the first motion data and the second motion data, the folding angle between the electronic device and the external device connected to the electronic device, and determine, on the basis of the determined folding angle, an input mode that sets whether to display a user interface on a display or whether to block an input signal received through the connector. Various other embodiments identified through the specification are possible.

Inferred undocking for hybrid tablet computer

In an example, there is disclosed a hybrid tablet computing device comprising a tablet member configured to dock to a base member. The base member may include peripherals and other elements to augment the functionality of the tablet member. While docked, the base and tablet may operate in a cooperative mode, while undocking the tablet from the base places the tablet in an independent mode. A user's intent to undock may be inferred by natural interactions, including for example a user gripping the tablet along its top edge while simultaneously placing a hand over a trackpad on the base. If an undocking intent is inferred but the user does not complete the docking process within a timeout period, the tablet may redock and enter the cooperative mode.

Resizing of emissive displays for avionics applications

An emissive avionics display unit includes a thin, flexible emissive display surface that may be resized for reuse in a larger or smaller housing. The display surface may be removed from its housing and folded over, rolled over, or cut along an axis of the surface so that a smaller visible portion remains on which images may be displayed by the emissive display unit's drive electronics. The display surface may also be increased in size by unfolding or unrolling previously folded or unrolled portions. Resizing allows the emissive display surface and its drive electronics to be reused or customized to fit display housings of nonstandard shape or size, which housings may in turn be designed to conform to a broad variety of cockpit sizes and available surface areas.

MODULAR INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM WITH AUTOMATED DISPLAY REMOVAL

A portable information handling system modular hybrid architecture separates components between rotationally coupled housing portions to minimize cabling, connectors and materials, and to provide improved durability that supports recycling and reuse of the components. For example, a plurality of display configurations couple to housing portions of different dimensions with opposing couplers and a common keystone element that, when installed, prevents separation of the opposing couplers. Removal of the keystone element provides ready access to the housing portion interior to recycle processing components, such as a main board having a processor and memory.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE

An electronic device includes a display module, a movable member, a base, and a biasing element. The display module has a housing and a guiding member fixed thereto. The guiding member has an angled surface, and the housing has an opening. The movable member is disposed in the display module and has a through hole. The biasing element is disposed in the through hole and adjacent to the angled surface. The base has a main body and a connecting member, wherein the connecting member is connected to the main body and detachably connected to the display module. When the connecting member is inserted into the display module through the opening along a first direction, the connecting member pushes the movable member to move along a second direction with respect to the housing, and the movable member forces the biasing element to contact the connecting member.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD

A flexible display device includes a first image display region and a second image display region having predetermined positions and sizes. In a case where a positional relationship between the first image display region and the second image display region changes to a tent mode, a cross border task bar is displayed on the first image display region. The cross border task bar is a graphical user interface for enabling a user to operate on an object displayed on the second image display region. The cross border task bar includes a tunnel window to which an object displayed on the first image display region can be dragged. The object dragged to the tunnel window is then displayed on the second image display region.
